Joseph met in regular session on Oc~ober 6, ~960. :Hembers present "'ere; Mayor Zwack, trustees Herman Schnelder, Chrlst Pallansch, Don Rau; Treasurer Bill Meinz; clerk III Bob Johnson and Attorney John Knapp. Minutes of the September meeting were read and accepted on a motion by DonRau and seconded by Christ Pallansch. A motion was made by Herman Schneider seconded by Christ Pallansch to pay bills as presented. I :t-'lrs. Lenferink appeared before the council and descrmbed in detaii her plans of an àdition to the property (Mrs. Dullinger) purchased. A sketch of plans was summited. - Con't on page 161 161 A motion vTaS made by Herman Schneider seconded by Don Rau to issue the bldg. permit to Mrs. Lenferink as per application. Parnell Vos appeared before council and presented a question regarding sewer service and water installation to his property. lvfr. Knapp described the procedure of hearing and etc. on 1vater main improvements. It:was suggested Mr. Voss firs~ discuss water main extension with school board members. The purchase of the lot adjoining ball park from Tony Wolfe was dis- cussed. Ä motion was made by Don Rau seconded ~ Herman Schneider to purchase lot 3 block' 7 of Original Townsite for þ5íJ"l)from Tony l.volfe. Mr. Knapp to prepare necessary legal documents. Cluude Menzhuber presented a reguest for grading of Pine STreet - San Francisco to Iowa Street. ßayor Zwack informed Mr. Menzhuber the grading would be completed by village. Village engineer is informed of situation. Leo Sadlo, representing the planning commission, presented several re- quests from that organization (1) The erection of limited parking signs within the post office )arking zone - sign to read 15 minutes parking 8 a. m.. to 5 p. m.c ~2. The appropriation of $35.00 (approximate cost of completion of forms containing information on Village of st. Joseph. Information to be compiled in brochure form by Northern states Power for the purpose of inducing small industry to locate in the area. A motion was made by Don Rau seconded by Christ Pallansch to allow the expenditure (approximately 115 ) for the preparation of Brochure as requested by planning commission~ Amotion was made by Don Rau and seconded by Christ Pallansch that clerk order the following trafic signs: 1 - R - 39 yield right of way Z - 15 min. parking - 8 a. m. to 5' p. m. 1 - no double parking Ä motion was made by Don Rau seconded by Christ Pallansch to appoint the following to serve on the election board on Nov. 8. Irene Rassier, Helen Reber, John Klein, Mrs. Norbert Zierden and MaXMeyer. Julian and Leo Sadlo to aidin tabulation after close of polls. Mayor Zwack described the operation of the Tri-County police organizatiom He sugested the council investigate this type of night police protection in conjunction with the college of St. Benedicts. Council decided to table this question for the present.
