~lINUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL NEETING HELD ON THURSDAY SEPTENBER 9, 1971
I Coumcil members present, GUstin~schroeder, R. Reber, Attorney Knapp -
absent Clerk Bob Johnson, on vacation - acting clerk R. Reber Pro - Tern.
Corrections of minutes of previous meeting - cost of first aid course $2.65 per
person instead of $7.50.
Bill Gohman attended meeting, reports steel doors to be shipped Sept 10th.
Filtration plant machinery could be aperable by the week of Sept 15th.
Gohman stated - allowable painting deduction on building contract of $5250. if
village decides to have fire dept. do this work.
Village engineer present. He is to abtain prices on black top of alley south
of hall and area west of hall.
Engineer to make pliminary sketch of road change at intersection of Minnesota
street and 2nd Ave. West.
Sewer treatment plant discussed, factory rep. to replace mecury seal within
two weeks.
Question was raised if Sewer samples are being taken. Clerk to report to courlcil
the name of the contracting company employed to do this work.
Jack Loso and Sylvester Merkling appeared before council to request annex to
I village. Discussion followed. Were told by Attorney Knapp to contact other
interested parties in their locality and report there findings.
Bud Reber reported the Steering Committe including members of local organi-
~ations recommended for village to obtain option on St. Ben's property for con-
servation park land along VJatab Creek. Village attorney to draw up option
papers.
Village dump discusscd council decided to retain Mr. Andrew Altmann as attendant.
John Borresch declined the position.
John Knapp, village attorney to check League information on Trailer Court
Ordina.nce.
Motion by Bud Reber second by Herman Schneider to ammend Ord No. 59 on fees of
granting variances. Notion carried.
Fire contract discussed, clerk to invite, township boards to Oct. reg. meeting.
Hook up charge for annex property discussed, need mora information, League if
possible.
All members of council will attend League regional meeting at Waite Park.

I Motion by J hn Schroeder second by Bud Reber to purchase subscription to
Hater and Sewer Magazine for plant operator and membership in American Society
of Planning Official for planning committee chairman Nrs. Kelly.

Village clerk to contact County Board for further information on Emergency
Employment Act.
Hotion made by Schroeder second by Bud Reber to relieve Lorentz from village I
maintenance work, to do strictly police work. Hotion carried.
Sludge hauling discussion tabled to Oct. meeting.
Treasurer IS report given by Leo Badlo.
Honer Addn pliminary plot plan tabled for further consideration, road access
to be studied.
Hotion by Bud Reber second by Herman Schneider to raise treasurer salary to
$40.00 per month - carried.
Motion by Schroeder seconded by Bud Reber to pay bills - carried.
Motionby Bud Reber seconded by Roman Reber to deny Fire Chief Mike Loso's
request for $120 expenses to attend fire chiefs convention for 2 days at Albert
Lea - carried:'JUnanimously.
Motion to adjourn by 2chneider, second by Schoreder at 1:02 AM.
