HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966 [01] Jan 07 302 VILLAGE OF ST~ JOSEPH MINNESOTA MI1mTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 7, 1966 The village council of the Village of st. Joseph met in regular session on Jan. 7, 1966 with the follm.¡ing members present: Lodermeier, Sch- neider, Reber, Wieber, Johnson and Attorney John Knapp. I A motion to approve real estate equalization change of H., Knevel, asc presented by assessor and acknowledged by H. Knevel, ii ptø was made by Reber and seconded by Wieber. Motion carried., Minutes of the December meeting werepresented and approved as read. Bills presented for payment were approved on motion by Schneider and seconded by Wieber. Kierzek report on plant operation rpresented. Request from Pauline Bilbernick for additional aid for the month presented. Motion made by Schneider seconded by Wieber to grant additional aid in the amount of $20.00 for the month of January. Attorney Knapp to contact County Welfare Department regarding Pauline Silbernick and Enarts family aid. Enarts family arrived from Milaca six weeks ago, Mr. Enarts scheduled to enter Veterans hopital. Attorney to contact Milaca regarding poor claim s~ttlement period. Joint dump maintenance agreement between Village and Tovmship pre- I sen~ed by Attorney Knapp and accepted on motion by Reber seconded by Wieber. Street improvement assessment roll (90% complete~) presented by Attorney Knapp., 'Out of project' curb & installation assessments presented by Attorney for direct billing to residents. Alley assessments received and explained by Attorney Knapp. Motion made by Wieber seconded by Schneider to acept assessment roll as presented with public hearing set for Feb. 10, 1966. An April 1 deadline for second quarter payment ($lOoø)also arrangement~ to be made on deficit paymnetl regarding Farm fund agreed to by TOvm- ship officials at their meeting of Jan. 10, 1966. :1;" Louie Rassier, emvil defense director, presented a civil defense report. Course set on radiological monitoring. Lorentz instructed to have plow shoes repaired and new blade attached to plow., Lodermeier & Reber to meet with Borresch to discuss and exmine complaint$ regarding work habits.. Motion made by Wieber seconded by Reber to appoint Schneider acting I mayor ßor 1966. Motion carried. . Motion made by Schneider seconded by Reber to appoint the following to health board: Dr. Baumgartner - Wieber and Reber. A motion was made by Reber seconded by Wieber to appoint Schneider as council representative on planning commission. 303 The Following appointments or se~ections were made or approved on mot~ops by Schneider and seconded by Reber; I 1) st. Joseph Dispatch as official newspaper. 2) Herman Schneider as fire chief and Roman Zwack as asst. chief. 3) First State Bank as depository. Departmental appointments same as 1965 Dog problems discussed. Arrest & accident report presented by Lorent;,report on file$ Lorgntz' to investigate Silver Dollar operation - failure to apply for beer & cig licenses.
