MI1mTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MARCH ~Y, L__
The Village Council met in regular session on March 10, 1966 with
I thefolloltlÌng members present: Lodermeier, Reber, vJieber, Meinz-, Johns(l)lr)
and Attorney John Knapp. Absent:· Herman Scb;neider.
Minutes of previous meeting approved as read.
Minutes of Public Hearing presented regarding request for variance
by W., F. Honer for 4-plex residential unit construction. Honer
presented explanation of proposed constructmbn. ,Residents of area in
question presented their objections.. There were no voices of approval
for variance request. After a thorough discussion of ma'tteI' a motion
was made by Reber seconded by Wieber to refuse variance for construction
of 4-plex unit in area in questio81,~ recommended by Planning eommis~ion.)

Mr.. Honer and group advised variance from ordinance not neccessary
for 3-plex unit construction., Mr. Honer indicated plans for 3-pTex
unit construction would be submitted for council approval. Council
to notify all interested persons of special meèting to consider
new permjt application~
School District 1912 Board members present with Glenn Deutz spokes-
man; requesting information relating to water and sewer service to
four school sites under consideration:'
1) Al Bechtold property--vlest of Park Terrace
2) st., Benedict IS property--noJ;h'l..,est of Park Terrace
I 3} East of Cemetery r
4) East--John Plueger property (Schmidt farm)
Board to provide Village engineer with necessary descriptions of
propertiesJr0r cost estimates. Cost of survey to be~assumed by school
district.
Al Stueve present concerning storm sewer problem at garage. Storm
sewer repÐrted frozen at ~orçntz~orner~ Surma to be contacted for
steam opening where possible Z1V4<.i<
David Pfannenstein questioned final grade of street in his area,
reporting ðad spots~nd poor drainage.
Advised by Council inal grade not established~
Motion made by Reber seconded by Wieber to pay bills as presented
with exception of $20.00 water pumping charge submitted by Al Stueve.
Stueve problem to be discussed with Engineer.
Motion made by Reber sec6nded by Wieber to~nd Kierzek to sewer
operator sChool at U. of Minn. March 28-Z9-30.
Motion made by Reber seconded by Wieber to amend ordinance No. 50
section 2", to read as follm'ls: Garbage cans shall not exceed 30 gal.
I capacity. Effective April ~~ 1966.
Kierzek salary request re-examined. Motion made by Reber seconded
by Wieber to increase KierzeM1ìs salary to $200DO per semi-monthly
pay period.. -

Curb and gutter in~tallation discussed-- Reber to contact Henning for
cost estimates etc.
Maintenance discussion held--special meeting set for March 24--8p.m.
Water problem and "accidental" se¡,.¡er back-up at intersection of I
3rd Ave. S. E.. and Able St., discussed-- insurance inquiry to be made.
Motion made by Wieber seconded by Reber to send Lorentz to Police
Chieß'institute at U.. of Minn.
