MIJ\iUTES OF REGULAR VILIJAGE COUNCIL IvTEETnTG HELD ON July 7, 1966
The Village Council of the Village of St. Joseph met in reg13-lar ~ssior:
I on July 7, 1966 with the following members pres~nt= Lodermeler, Schnelder
Reber, Meinz, Johnson, Attorney John Knapp and ~nglneer R. W. Teague.
Chester Sand, re~esenting Mary Gebeck, presented a question of improper
assessment and advertising of street assessment. Examination of assess-
ment role indiàated description and assessment of prope~ty in question
to be correct.
Mike Loso, Glen~ Duetz, Abbe Zimmer presented a request for annexation
of School District property--(new school site)-- to village. Attorney
John Knapp to draw up annexation form. Dedication of street question
at new school site referred to planning commission for study on motion
by Schneider seconded by Reber.
Ray Schindler lot question presented by Attorney Knapp.
Fi:est reading of dump ordinance presented by Attorney Knapp.
Motion made by Reber seconded by Schneider to approve Dumr Ordinance
No. 66 as presented.
Fire contract behleen Village and st.. Jol1..n' s Uni versi ty dÜfcussed--~O
be prepared and presented at next meeting.
I Melvin Spanier presented request for $70a.00 financial aid for medical
expenses--Attorney ~napr indicated village had no responsibility in
case and indicated such payment would be irregular.
Results of ¿oning Board of Appeals public hearing on Brutger Inc. -~~(
Application for variance to construct multiple d\1elljng presented.
Variance denied on unanimous decision of Zoning ~oard. Preparatiòn of
lease to obtain addit:LCf1al property in process by Brutger Inc.
Discussion of alley surfecing held 1/Jith Engineer TeaE'ue--East..:vJest-
20ft. ì.Tidth--North-South-17ft. ì4idth--all properties' assessesed
accordingly. Problem of lack of established lot lines.
Catch ~asin question discussed--freeze area checked and repDoted good
by Eng:meer Teague. Motion made bv Scheider seconded bv Reber to
authorize Teague to negotiate with Donovan on contract price for tennis
court ~area surfDcjng.
Motion made by Schneider seconded by Reber to pay bills as presented.
Employee nacatñons discussed-- arrangements completed.
Stueve stop sign question tabled until surfacing completion.
Youth vTork program examined--report by coordinator Lorentz presented.
