MINUTES OF REGULAR SESSION OF VILLAGE COUNSIL MEETING HELDNov. 10,1966r
The Vmllage Council of the Village of st. Joseph met in regular session
on November 10, 1966 with the following members present:Lodermeier,
Schneider, Reber, Johnson and Attorney John Knapp.
Minutes of October meetings read.
A motion was maòe by Schneider seconded by Reber to delete provision
"B" (applicant not to allow minors etc.) from motion granting beer
licenses to Margaret Scoles.
Max Meyer requested information concerning dam between two ponds at
plant site~complained of additicnal water problem at gravel pit.

Lorentz explained trenching operation completed this past summer
resulting in more drainage of first pond than dŒsirable~resulting in
need for dam. Schneider to accompany Max Meyer to sit~ for surve~.
Motion made b;v Reber seconded by Schneider to pay bills as pE:'srnted.
Gas ordinance information presented by Attorney John Knapp--Council
to check ordinance question with NSP.
Attorney John Knapp reported on ordinance relating to junk car parking
and other personal pÞPperty storage. additional research and informa-
tion ø~ to be comp'led.
Erling Werner project engineer, presented latest plat ånd information
on Interstate 94 project as related to the community. Changes re-
quested by counci~overthe past year appeared on plat.
The most important changes were enlargement from half to full diamond
interchanges on both the West and East ends of community. Change
desired in count~ road entrance into community from north to be
petitioned and discussed Vlith county officials.
Election canvas approved on motion by Schneider seconded by Reber~
80~ ballots received-587 ballots voted upon and returned- 212 ballots
unused and ret~rned-none spoiled-one ballot missing. Herman Schneider,
trustee, 411; bob JQhnson, clerk, 414; Bill Lorentz, constable, 51;
Mike Lose~ justicê, 63 votes.
Council again examined proposed budget and tax levy. On motion by
Schneider seconded by Reber the council set the tax levy as follows;
General Revenue 16,800.00; Lights 2,400.00; Poor 800.00; Recrea tion
1,000iOO; Firemen's Relief 2 mills. Motion carried.
Discussion of water main extension to District 1912 new school site
held~ Hydrant to be place~on school distrmct property 'Hi th district
to provide easement.

interviewed. ' Motion made by Schneider seconded by Reber to rrovide Pauline Silber-
nick with $75.00 aid tris month.

Resume and discussion of past summer~ Tri-Cap Youth 00rp porgrom
held.
¡~r. Hanson presented Youth Corp Frogram information--resu~ts of
past summer--stressed importonce of p~~per supervision. Vongratulé3ted
commLLni ty for its conduct of progr2m. Number to be reduced from
500 tG 300--the community to receive 15 youth Cor}' members- approval
by March 1, 1967 for a June 12 stArt.

to interview additinal aprlicsnts.
Meeting set for Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m. with NSP representative Bill Daniel
for street lighting survey discussion. Andy Bechtold interview for
maintencance set for 9 p.m.
