JOSFFH, MINNESOTA 331 MINUTES OF REGULAR SESSI l\T OF VILLAGE COlTJ:ICJL MEETING HELD Jan. 5, 1967 The Village counc1tl of the Village of St. Joseph met jn regular ~ssion I on Thursday, Jan. 5, 1967 with the followinfffiembers present: Loder- meier, Schneider, Reber, Johnson and attorney John Knapp. Also present were golice Chief Bill Lorentz and planning commissioh chairman Mi~e Niere garten. - Minutes of the December meeting were approved as read. Mike Nierengarten, planning cQmmission chairman, presented a request from the Office of Minnesota business Development for information relating to village planring progrDm. Meeting requested to evaluate program. Meeting to be scheduled for Eeb. 2 or 23, 1967. O.C. Dierkhising requested additiona1 time on house vocation -relating to zonging 'ordinance violation. Renta1 unit located on rear of Dierkhi:sd.ng residentia1 lot. Motion made by Reber seconded by Schneider to extend ti~e 1imit on Dierkhising request to April 1, 1967 for comp1iance with zoning or- dinance. Bill Landwher requested information regarding warming house super- vision. Bill Lorentz stated village now authorized one NYC worker for skating program supervision---Mika Voz approved for program. I . Motion made by Schneider seconded by Reber to approve Mjke Voz on NYC program for 15 hours per week ",ith Carol Johnson to aid in ~þeY- ~pervision when necessary. Schedule to be arranged by Bill Lorentz~ The oath of office was administered to Dick Schroeder, appointed trustee to fill vacancy resultjng from the Paul Wieber resignation in December. Motion ma~e by Reber seconded by Schneider to pay bills as presented. Motion made by Reber seconded by Schroeder to re-ap'oint Don Haider assessor for one year and aprroveihis attendance at assessor school. The following appointments were made and apy'roved on motion by Reber seconded by Schneider. Health Board: Dr. Baumgartner, RomaD Heber, Dick Schroeder. Fire Chief: Roman Z",ack I Depository: First State Bank Dick Schrodeer apfointed to committees formerly he~ðed by Wieber with addition of parks and playgrounds. 332 cont~ from page 331 Weed Control: Lodermeier; Asst; Weed Contr01: Lorentz Non-intoxicating liquor ordinance presented by attorney John Knapp- I council members to examine ordinance prior to next regular meeting. Attorney Knapp presen~ed Lorentz ,mployment contract. Notion made by Schneider seconded by Reber to authorize Mayor and clerk to execute contract for village. Contract signed by all parties. +- Motion ma0e by Reber seconded by Schneider to increDse atòrneys yearly retainer fee to $300.00 motion carried. Motion By Reber seconded by Schneider to increase Smlbernick aid to $50.00R¡>. for this month. Bœscussion of on-call police duty held with BUd Reber-problems of communication 1lTi thin village cited and discussed. COllege Inn operation exarrÜned and discussed with rolice personnel. Motion made by Reber seconded by Schneider to inc"ease John Kier- zek's salary $10.00 per month. Don Haider assessor rep~rted on assessor ~chool trO~edures.
