342 VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION OF VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON JUNE 8, 1967
The Village council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session
on Thursday, June 8, 1967 with the following members present; Mayor I
Lodermeier; councilmen, Schneider, Reber, S~oeder; Meinz, treasurer;
Johnson, clerk; and Attorney John Knapp.
Minutes of the previous regular meeting approved as read.
A motion was made by councilman S~oeder seconded by councilman Reber
to pay bills as presented.
On motion by Schneider seconded by Schroeder plant operator John Kierzek
was granted a $15.00 per month increase in salary effective June 1, 1967.
Motion carried.
On motion by Reber seconded by Schneider the council approved the appoint-
ment of Al Maleska to Village Planning Commission. Motion unanimously carried.
Ollie Lesnick reported agreeable to placement on commission available roster.
Mike Loso presented question of street vacations in School District Park
area. Loso to refer to Court House records.
Council held discussion of traffic violations and Justice Court pro- I
cedures with Chief Lorentz and Justice of the Peace Loso.
Fire contract with St. Joseph T01~ship received from Tovmship fully
executed and placed on file. St. Wendel Tovmship contract not received
to date.
The Village Board of Review will meet on Monday, June 26, 1967 at 7:30 p.m.
.' Welfare lein on Borresch property to be settled by Attorney John Knapp
with Stearns Welfare Board.
Summer recreation program incomplete at this date. Program still in
need of swim instructor. Jim Loso has returned to again conduct the
crafts sigment of the recreation program. Chuck Schmitz has indicated
an interest in organizing and conducting some type of Little League baseball
program.
Question of boxcar removal from baseball park area discussed by council
no discision reached on question.
Extermination program at city dump will be initiated in near future. I
Lorentz to order D-con necessary for first application.

NYC (Neighborhood Youth Corp) program has presently scheduled 24 workers
for th Village for the summer. Some of the NYC personnel will be working
at the College, for the school district, parish and possibly on Rod & Gun
Club projects.
The village is also participating in a program called Vocational Rehabilita-
tion with six high school students starting work in the village on Monday,
June 12 for a period of eight weeks. These youngsters receive a salary
ranging from 90 cents to 1.25 per hour. The sum of 1.25 per hour is re-
ceived by the village toward the supervisor's salary. .
On motion by Schneider seconded by Reber Bill Lorentz was again appointed
supervisor at 3.00 per hour salary. Motion carried by a 3 - 2 vote.
NYC program reported having insuarance coveerage of workers. Insurance
coverage for vocational rehab personnell questioned - information to be
obtained from program director.
On motion by Reber seconded by Schneider the council approved purchase of
rider mower from Loso Hardware for approx. $250.00.
A number of business district sidewalk areas were reported inœfective
condition. V F W area sited by street commissioner.
The council moved to adjourn at 12:12 AM
