MINUTES OF REGULAR SESSION OF VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD ON Oct. 5, 1967
On Thursday, Oct. 5, 1967 the regular Village Council meeting was pre-- I
ceeded by a public hearing.
Margaret Scoles, licensee, and David Scmles, operators of the College
Inn since October 1, 196& received a suspension of license decision
from the Village Council after the testimony of local police officers,
residents residingin the neighborhoo~and a mmnor had been heard.
On motion by Schroeder seconded by Reber the Council recessed for a
private deliberation of the case. Following the 5-minute recess
councilman Schroeder explained the Council decision and made the motion
to suspend the non-intoxicating liquor licenses of Scoles to Dec. 31,
1967 seconded by Schneider. Motion carried unanimously. The licensee
was represented by legal counsel and a court reporter recorded the
proceedings. Revocation of licenses had also been under consideration.
Following the hearing the Council proceeded with regular Village business.
Members present were: Mayor, Lodermeier; Councilmen, Herman Schneider,
Roman Reber and Dick Schroèder; Treasurer, Bill Meinz; Clerk, Bob Johnson;
Attorney John Knapp and Engineer R.W. Teague.
Minutes of previous meetings read and approved on motion by Schroeder
seconded by Reber. Motion carried.
Engineer Teague presented final cost documents for payment on Park
Terrace seal coating and Public School street surfacing project. Total I
cost for seal coating amounted to $3380.90 with the Council dec~ding
to withhold $576.00 cost of patching until that portion of project has
been impro ved. Street surfacing cost at public school amounted to
$5451.67. . ~
On motion by Schroeder seconded by Reber construction project Bosts
were ordered paid with School District to be billed for surfacing cost.
Engineer Teague reviewed report on well No.2 test completed to date.
The engineer recommended further testing to complete sample test of
gravel and water and to pump a greater volume.
A motion was made by Schneider seconded Reber to authorize Engineer to
proceed with necessary plans to complete testing.
Storm sewer problems discussed with engineer. PosSbility of use of
Photo method in detecti~to be examined by engineer. The engineer also
sugges~1hse of sewer re in attempt to solve SÐÐrm sewer problem on
1st Ave. N.W. .
A motion was made by Reber seconded vy Schneider to approve amendment
to Zoning ordinance No. 59-3 ax recommemded by planning cmmmission.
A traffic control radar report was presented by Police Chief Lorentz and
placed on file. I
A motion to pay bills presented was made by Reber seconded by Schneider.
motion carried.
Additional street light ordered for street at poublic school site by council
Clerk to notify NSP. .

I Head-Start program bus parking problem examine~ with south side of
Minnesota Street west of Parochial school driveway to be used and
appraised as a solution to problem.
A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Reber to pay medical statement
in amount of $38.00 for Nick Borresch and provide $75.00 aid.
Motion to adjourn made at 12:30 a.m.
