VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH NINNESOTA
MINUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON January 4, 1968
The Village Council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session on January 4,
1968 with the following members present: Retiring Mayor Virgil Lodermeier; Council- I
men, Herman Schneider, Dick Schroeder; Clerk, Bob Johnson, Attorney John Knapp
and newly elected Mayor Roman Zwack. Absent due to illness, Councilman Roman Reber
Meeting was opened by retirillng Mayor Lodermeier, minutes of previous meetings were
approved as read. in

The oath of office was administered to Roman Zwack, mayor elect and incumbent
councilman Dick Schroeder, re-elected to office.
A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Schroeder to pay bills as presented.
On motion by Schroeder seconded by Schneider the following appointments were
approved for 1968:
Health Board: Dr. Baumgartner, Roman Reber, Dick Schroeder.
Acting Mayor: Herman Schneider
Council Representative on Planning Commission: Roman Reber
Fire Chief: Mike Lose,
Asst. Fire Chief: Herman Schneider
Depository: First State Bank - St. Joseph
Assessor: Ollie Lesnick
Weed Control Commissioner: Roman Zwack
Asst. Weed Control Commissioner: Bill Lorentz
Designation of official newspaper was tabled for legal opinion
Margaret ând David Scoles presented a request for licenses required to re-open I
College Inn. Application forms to be provided and submitted for council action.
Further action on the matter was tabled pending receipt of applications.
Claude Menzhuber presented information relating to New Years Eve operation of
El Paso Club. Question of Sunday liquor license appraised. Action on these matters
were postponed until necessary reports were completed and submitted.
On motion by Schneider seconded by Johnson the variance request of Dennis Danzl
was approved as recommended by Planning Commission.
A School District # 751 request for snow plowing of service entrance area was
approved on mation by Schroeder seconded by Schneider. An examination of time and
costs involved will be made.
A motion was made by Schroeder seconded by Schneid~r to submit expense statement
to school district for election costs.
On motion by Schneider seconded by Schroeder the council approved payment of costs
for police chief attendance for Juvenile Officers Institute to be held' at Arden
Hills Jan 31 to Feb 2.
Council discussed water line freeze problems. Notice to advise residents with a
history of water line freeze-ups to run a small stream of water until further I
