VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH
MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING HELDDAPRIL 4,1968 - 8;00 P.M.
I The Village Council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session on
Thursday, April 4, 1968 with the following members present: Zwack, Schneider,
Reber, Schroeder, Johnson, Attorney John Knapp, Engineer Richard Teague~and
Police Chief Lorentz.
Minutes of previous meetings were approved as reads on motion by Schneider
seconded by Reber.
Mike Loso, school board representative, informed council of boards) decision
to have school board park property appraised. Requested determination of amount of
special assessments on property.
Representing the fire departments, Mike Loso presented request for salary
increase for fire department personnel. Salary schedule proposal placed on
file - copies to be sent St. Wendel and St. Joseph Townships.
Motion made by Schroeder seconded by Reber to accept proposal of aa~~ry in-
crease as presented.by Mike Loso, with correction, effective July 1, 1968.
motion carried.
The Council approved John Kierzek's attendance at plant operator school
at the U. of Minn.on motion by Reber seconded by Schroeder.
Cbuncil approved purchase of small tools for plant and water dept.
O.C. Dierkhising presented house plans and a request for purchase of 48 ft.
Nthl'y of Lot 4 - Townsite (former Borresch property). Question tabled -
council to examine property site.
Lloyd Pallansch requested beer license for ball park concession - approval
I for erection of wood fence surrounding playing field. Fence repair, grading
and fill material needs alao cited. On motion by Reber seconded by Schneider
the council approved issuance of beer license, fence repairs, grading and fill.
Council discussed procedures for final testing of Well No. 2 with Engineer
Teague. Engineer expressed concern over possible effects of 'old dump'
location on new well. Complete pumping and analysis tests to be made.
On motìon by Schroeder seconded by Schneider the council instructed engineer
to contact Al Donabauer and provide specs for well project. Schneider to
notify Donabauer to meet with engineer Saturday.
A motiom was made by Schneider seconded by Reber to extend dump hours on
Wed. & Sat. to 9:00 p.m.
Recreation summer program approved by council.
Bills were approved for payment on motion by Schroeder seconded by Reber.
On motion by Schroeder seconded by Reber the salar~eef John Kierzek and
Ray Theisen were increased $25 and $15 per month, respectively.
Clerk to provide park property assessment totals and dispatch letter to
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zimmer as invitation to attend the next regular council
meeting.
