MINUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON AUGUST 8, 1968
I The Village Council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session
on Thursday, August 8, 1968 with the following members present: Z\'lack,
Schneider, Reber, Johnson, Attorney John Knapp and Engineer R. W. Teague.
Absent: Dick Schroeder (vacation).
Discussion and review of street seal coating project held vnth Engineer :
Teague. Attorney Knapp indicated a written agreement with county would be
necessary on seal coat participation project. Bids to be opened on Monday,
August 12, 1968 at 7:30 p.m.
Progress of Well No. 2 and Pump House Project presented in report by
Engineer Teague.
Bell Telephone Co. presented a written request for permit to install a
3~" pipe in excavation through 2nd Ave. N. 1,'1. to house future phone cable.
The request was approved on motion by Reber seconded by Schneider. Annex-
ation information examined and discussed with engineer and attorney: Cost
of water and sewer estimated at approx. $11. per foot for water and sewer.
Deferred assessments listed at $31,000 on treatment plant for area. 50% of
area residents required as signers of petition for annexation of up to 200
acres. Public hearing and ordinance also a requirement. Frank Schloemer
presented question of lot size - court house chec~ of original plat to be
made by clerk.
I Sal Schneider requested additional information of special USe permit re-
quested for trailer park. Report of Planning Corillllssion hearing presented
and placed on file. Question returned to Comrrission on lack of quorum
question. Commission to meet on Monday, August 12.
Motion made by Reber seconded by Schneider to set fee for special use permit
at $25.00.
Bills presented and approved for payment on motion by Reber seconded by
Schneider.
Truck purchase question tabled for further studey.
Motion made by Schneider seconded by Reber that clerk notify V.F.W. Post of
compliance requirements of liquor ordinance section relating to 20 nÜnute
vacation of premises by patrons after closing hour.
Mayor Zwack reported receiving complaints on shooting at range in plant area.
