JOSEPH 377 MINTIITES OF REGULA.R VI1LAGE C01!1NCI1 ¥EET:DMG HELD ON: DECD1BER 5, J.. 968 The village council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session on Thursday, Dec. 5, 1968 with the follmÜng members present: Mayor Zwack; I Councilmen Schneider, Reber and Schroeder; Clerk, Johnson; Attorney John ....-, [ ~ Knapp and Engineer R. W. Teague. l,finutes of the previous regular meeting in November were approved as read with the following correction: On motion by Schneider seconded by Schroeder "The public hearing on alley vacation was opened by acting Mayor Herman Schneider." Lawrence Fischer was present regarding street opening question - Fischer re- ported Margaret Eisenchenk signature on petition dependent upon extension of sanitary sewer to property line by village. Ben Hollerman requested compen- sation for necessary easement. Council to contact Hollerman to negotiate price -- council approved Eisenschenk request for sewer extension stub - Attorney John Knapp to examine land size and tax title of Hollerman property. Jerry Rennie presented old statement for work on street project at new school site. Original statement submitted to school board. Attorney John Knapp to examine J. B. Surma contract specs on project. The balance due $576.00) for patch work on project, to be tabled until question has been examined by attorney. Engineer R. W. Teague presented a report on Well No.2 and Pump house project - reported system working well - pumping 500 gals per min since Nov 11, 1968 - suggested drøppingdown to 375 gals per min. - use of new pump for emergencies suggested until fluoridation equipment has been attached to new system. Engineer submitted final statement of J. B. Surma, project contractor, in the I amount of $h195. 54. lünor adjustments in ventilating system. as recommended by district health engineer, to be completed. Motion was made by Schneider seconded by Reber to approve final payment on \rIell No.2 and Pump house project in the amount of $4195.5h to J. B. Surma and Sons. Motion carried. Engineer also reported J. B. Surma had agreed to repair curb at alley entrance near Barber Shop. Dick Schroeder recommended planning commission have meeting with east end area residents to appraise their interest in annexation. Roman Reber, council representative on commission, to relay recommendation to commission. Attorney to contact Sauk Rapids for additional information on junk car ordinance. Attorney John Knapp presented letter from Nunicipal Consultants, showing estimate of possible interest rate on filtration plant bond issue - (letter in FHA file.) St. Cloud FHA office reported copy of consultants letter of inter- est estimates (5! to 5 3/4% ) may be sufficient qualifi~ation for FHA loan - additional necessary forms to be completed and submitted. . On motion by Schroeder seconded by Schneider the council accepted the original lOì^l bid for a used truck as submitted by Krebsbach Notor Co. in the amount of $2950.00. Notion carried. I Bills were approved for payment on motion by Reber seconded by Schroeder. Hotion carried. 378 Motion was made by Schroeder seconded by Reber to approve NSP water pumping contract as presented. Motion carried. Motion was made by Reber seconded by Schroeder to purchase five pounds of I sausage for village employes, Lorentz, Kierzek and Theisen for Christmas. Hotion carried. Council man Reber reported bad spots in street seal coating project by Don- avan Contracting. Skating rink question - Schroeder to contact Herb Dehler caretaker. vJiring and lights question to be handled by Lorentz and Schneider. Motion made by Schroeder seconded by Reber village pay 75% of Lorentz hospital...,· ization policy cost. Amendment to contract included in motion. Motion carried.
