HHTUTEE) OF REGULAR VILlAGE COUNCIL ['lliETING HELD ON SEPTEHBER 7, 1969
The Village Council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session on
I Thursday, Sept ~ 1969 ~ñth the following members present: Zwack, Schneider,
Reber, Schroeder, Johnson, Attorney John Knapp and Bill Lorentz.

Ì1inutes of the August 10 regular meeting v¡ere presented and accepted on motion
by Schneider seconded by Reber. Notion carried.
A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to open and waintain east west
alley between Date and Elm Streets - abutting the Schneider Trailer Court.
Engineers l1ilkenson and Nolan presented specs on proposed storm sewer project
at west entrance to College. Preliminary specs for filtration facility also
presented by engineers. Cost estiw~tes will be available on Oct 9.
Total land cost estimate set at $3750.00 appraised value. (40x132 ft) 5280 sq.ft.
George Gustin presented an application for an on-sale non-intoY~cating liquor
liccnse for use at the former College Inn property in conjunction with Friday
nite auction operation.
A motion was nmde by Schneider seconded by Reber to grant license as per
application with following restrictions attached: non-intoxicating liquor
sales to be linrrted to Friday night 6 p.m. to nrrdnight. The motion failed by
3-2 vote. Reber and Schneider voting for the motion with Schroeder, Johnson
and Zwack voting against the motion.
A motion was made by Johnson to reconsider application for license to sell
I on second Friday of operation only. There was no second to this motion. The
application to be retained for future consideration.
Dick Taufen, applicant for village maintenance job, was present to discuss
employrnent question.
A motion was Jnade by Schneider seconded by Reber to employ Dick Taufen for
full-time village maintc'nance at a starting salary of t¡'500.00 per month.
To start employment on Monday, Sept 8, 1969,4
A motion was made by Schroeder seconded by Reber to approve St. Ben's entrance
storm sewer project as per specs presented byengineers. Notion carried.
A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schroeder to engage Hardrives Inc. to
replace street cxcavation at Bob Borresch and Alice Pallansch residences -
contractors engaged by property owners must be approved by council.
Alley abutting Creamery and Wm. Loso properties to be opened. Loso to be
JT!otified.
Council instructed Police Chief Lorentz that he and Bud Reber, patrolman,
are to perform periodic checks on local liquor establishments and use the
Stearns County Sheriffs office when necessary. CC'','' ~
Council approved repair of plant flow recorder.
I A motion 1~~S made by Schneider seconded by Schroeder to approve purchase of the
fÒllovdng equip)1lent: battery charger (39.95); Harris welder, (200.00) , fire
department batteries. Hotion carried.
Lorentz request for council consideration of sa]~ry adjustment tabled for

further study. I
A motion was made by Schroeder seconded by Reber to pay bills as presented.
A motion was made by Schroeder seconded by Schneider to accept and sign
lease for garage rental with Krebsbach Motor Co. Notion carried. (lease on
file)
Bill Heinz \vater line freeze problem approved for correction.
