The Village CounÓl of the Village of St. Joseph met. in regular session on
Thursday, Nov. 6, 1969 lÚ th the following members present: . ÍiIayor Roman Zwack,
Councilmer" Herman Schneider, Roman Reber and Dick Schroeder: 'clerk, Bob I
Johnson: Police Chief Bill Lorentz and Attorney John· Knapp
O. C. Dierkhising presented application for permit to place a h01).se trailer
on the rear of lot at 303 Collcge Ave North, north side of H;}l1vay 52. A
motion vras made by Schneider seconded by Reber to approve application for
placement of trailer hOlJse in above described area. Notion carried. .
Art Reber, repres~nting the Veterans of Foreigh '}vars Post 5773? presented an
application for a Sunday liquor license for use at the VFH Club.
À motion vras made by Schroeder 8econded by Schneider to.grant VFW a Sunday
liquor license at the regular fee of ~;200.00 for year. . Notion carried un-
ami¡";ously.
l'Jilner Carley engineers VJere present to discuss drainage problem in alley,
abutting bank building. Engincers recommended improved window vrells and
blading of alley to correct problem. -
Bell Tclephone sidewalk restoration report presented by engineers: alley
entranres - Klein & Kapsner to be concrete improved - school entrance depress-
ion to be corrected.
A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schroeder to approve concrete improve-
ment for described alley entrances. I
Grading and fill in alleys at Hoodworldng and Creamery area to be estimated.
Lester Baird sidewalk area to be. stacked by engineers. Staking to be on
s:idcwalk line. Further discussion with property O1¡mer to be scheduled prior
to installation of sidc1¡ralk. Staking approved on motion by Reber seconded
by Schrosder. Hotion carried.
Attorney Knapp reportE;d no further inforrnation from property owner ZiElIfler
regarding acquisition of property abutting village hall.
Ì"Iayor and counciLmen salary ql1estion to be examined by Attorney.

Courwil agreed hall meeting schedule vrould prohibit 1.;.88 for elementary art '

Village dump to operate on a Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule for winter
months if possible.
Snow fence approved for Hill area - Rothfork p~operty - ~ rolls.
Election canvass Fas approved on m.otion by Reber seconded by Schneider as I

Dan:iel Nierengarten submitted his resignation as dump caretah:er, effective
I DeC'. 1, J969. Dumping at gate incidents discussed. La,,! enforoement

Lorentz to arrest violatórs. Use of mun:LdpaJ. court not prohibited Hhen

dumping hours. Nierengarten to reconsider resignation until next regular
meeting on Dee 1:, 1969.
A motion was made b;}r Reber seconded by Schroeder to pay bills as presented.

Hotion to adjOllrn was made at 11:1-:5 p.m by Reber seconded by Schneider.
