VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH
HINUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL }1EETING HELD ON JANUARY 9, 1969
The village council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session on
I Thursday, Jan. 9, 1969 vlith the follovling members present: Zwack, Schneider,
Reber, Schroeder, Johnson, Police Chief Lorentz and Attorney John Knapp.
Minutes of Dec. 2 and Dec. 5 meetings approved as presented on motion by
Schroeder seconded by Schneider.
John Kierzek advised to have Ray Theisen aid in reading meters. Snol,l plowing
problems and policies discussed.
A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to pay Jerry Rennie $24.00
as per statement submitted in December for moving fill at El Paso. lrlork com-
pleted as a result of misunderstanding. Motion carried.
Peter Johnson present to discuss snow problems, requested furrow plowing to
rear of adjacent lot. Also suggested village install snow fence next fall.
V-Plow to attempt furrow plowing, and street to be widened.
SnovT to be removed at intersections, stop signs, and hydrants.
~'¡ater pumping report examined and filed. Additional fire horn installed in
basement of new power plant at St. Ben's reported. Mayor to discuss snow
plowing and work schedule with Kierzek and Theisen.
Attorney John Knapp reviewed junk car ordinance proposal - exam~ined Sauk
Rapids ordinance. Lorentz to check with Rapids Chief.
I A motion was made by Schroeder seconded by Reber to accept insuarnce settle-
ment in amoumt of $243.10 for damage to hall occurring at the time of water
tank cleaning by Watertower Tank Repair Co. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Schroeder seconded by Schneider to authorize attorney to
begin condemnation proceedings on Albert Zimmer property (40 X 132) abutting
village hall property. Motion carried.
Hockey schedule to be established for rink by Dick Schroeder.
Roman Reber presented planning comnission report: Commission reported agree-
able to meeting with east end residents. Mrs. R. W. Kelly appointed chairman
replacing Bob Viehauser whose term expired. Commission secretary to notify
east end residents of meeting.
A motion was made by Schroeder seconded by Reber to pay bills as presented
with exception of Baggenstossand Rennie statements for snow r~moval. Clerk
to recheck statements for verification of hours.
Motion to adjourn made at 11:35 p.m.
