VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH
}IINUTES OR REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL f'lliETING HELD ON J'1ARCH 6, 1969
The village council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session on
I Thursday, March 6, 1969 with the following members present: Schneider,
Schroeder, Johnson, Police Chief Lorentz and Attorney John Knapp. (absent-
Roman Zwack- illness) Roman Reber arrived later.
Meeting was conducted by acting Mayor Herman Schneider.
IvIinutes of previous meetings approved as read.
Loretta and Del Horsch presented an application for off-sale bcer and cigarette
license for use at Frisky Bait Shop.
Notion made by Schroeder seconded by Johnson to table application until April
10 meeting due to absence of Hayor Z"lack and councilman Reber. Ì''Íotion carried.
}tike Loso reported on installation of lights on fire trucks. Loso also re-
ported to~mship board member stating the towns~~~ver receives statement
of disbursements from farm fund. Losó~forme 1 Board annually in receipt
of complete farm fund report. Clerk to attend annual township meeting along
with fire dept. members.
Don Carley and Bob Lund of Nillner Carley and Associates met with council
for further discussion and planning of filtration unit and structure project.
New tests of well no. 2 to be made by engineers. Attorney Knapp advised
engineers to place stakes on condemnation property for county comnissioner
examination scheduled on or before March 18. Ed Carlin, Norb Stelton,
I Cy Kueffler listed as appraisers with George Condon as alternate. Engineers
to compare material costs for proposed structure. Engineer Carley to examine
treatment plant facility.
Motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to pay bjJls as presented.
Attorney John Knapp reported on property condemnation procedures. Comnis-
sioners to examine property week of March 18. Attorney Knapp suggested
placing lot line stakes in advance.
Junk car ordinance reported near completion by Attorney John Knapp.
A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schroeder to approve Chief Lorentz
attendance at police shcool at the U. of fünn. Narch 17-19. }fotion carried.
Motion was made by Schroeder to approve expenditure of approximately $1000.00
for recreation playground equipment. The motion did not receive a second.
Reber reported vacancy on planning comnissionf~ump operation question dis-
cussed - no action taken.
Garbage hauling change suggested by Lorentz to Monday and Thursday - question
was tabled.
