I1INUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL l1EETING HELD ON APRIL 10, 1969
I The Village Council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session
on Thursday, April 10, 1969 with the following members present: Zwack
Schneider, Reber, Schroeder, Johnson, Lorentz - Ray Theisen, John Kierzek
also in attendance were Lawrence Fischer, Harvey Kierzek, Loretta and
Delphin Horsch, Dan Nierengarten.
Ninutes of regular and special meetings of JvIarch approved on motion by
Schroeder seconded by Reber. Notion carried.
Loretta and Del Horsch were present regarding their application for an
off-sale beer license at the Frisky Bait Shop. Roman Reber explained that
the question had not been submitted to planning comnission due to an
oversight. It would be subnntted to comm~ission at their regular meeting
on Hay 5.
Lawrence Fischer presented question of street opening. Council agreed
to contact Hollerman and examine area in question. Fischer reported he
had changed his plan from moving a regular house to bringing in a trailer
house for placement on a lot in the area in question. Trailer question
to be referred to planning corrmñssion.
Council discussed dump regulations and work schedule with Dan Nierengarten.
A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schroeder to hire Dan Nierengarten
as dump caretaker at $1.65 per hour for 28 - 30 hours per week. Dump
I gate lock to be changed at once - keys to be issued to the follmdng
3 to St. Benedicts; one to public school, Dan Nierengarten, Ray Theisen
and John Kierzek.
Harvey Kierzek submitted request for on-sale beer license for Joes base-
ball team for use at ball park. Kierzek also requested removal of north
side vestibule on present concession stand; weed killer, grass seed and
fertilizer.
A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Reber to approve requests.
Notion carried. Amendment to above motion was made by Schneider
seconded by Reber to permit purchase of 10 yards of fill for infield.
Amendment approved. Discussion of outfield fence held no conclusions
reached.
Discussion of work policies held ~åth village employees John Kierzek
and Ray Theisen. Complaints and problems were examined. Employees in-
formed that instructinns from Lorentz, as supervisor, must be carried
out. Refusal to follow instructions cannot be tolerated.
Raman Z~lack to check with Krebsbach }1otors regards truck hoist problem.
A n~tion was made by Schneider seconded by Schroeder to approve Ordinance
No 1969-A kno1VD as the juw{-car ordinance - Motion carried.
I A motion was made by Schroeder seconded by Reber to increase village
cost-share for sidewalJ< installation to $1.15 per running foot. lIotion
carried.
A motion~~s rr~de by Schroeder seconded by Schneider to approve expendi-
ture of $850.00 for playground equipment. ríotion carried.
Attorney Knapp requested to prepare letter to east-end residents regarding

annexation. Sub-division regulation question relating to 5 acre platting
on file at register of deeds office attorney to check.
A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to appoint Ben Kremer I
and Ollie Lesnick to the planning commission - motion carried~
Fill for alley and dun~ approved as requested by Lorentz. Use of village
hall for driver training program approved.
A motion was ¡nade by Reber seconded by Schneider to table request for
police radio monitor.
A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Reber to approve cigarette
license application of College of St. Benedict as submitted by Nancy
Carpenter signed by Stanley J. Idzerda, president.
A motion was made by Reber seconded by Schneider to grant Avon Lumber-
O.C. Dierkhising the variance requested on condition they reduce the
size of garage to 20 ft 1~dth as per original plans submitted. 1-1otion
carried by 3-2 vote.
Discussed fees for special meetings, variances etc. further discussion
planned.
Bills paid on motion by Schroeder seconded by Reber. 1v1otion carried.
