VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH
MINUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON FEBRU1I.RY 5, 1970
The Village Council of the Village of St. Jos~ph met in regular session on
Thursday, Feb. 5, 1970 with the following members present: Mayor George Gus~in I
Councilmen Herman Schneider, Roman Reber, and Richard Schroeder; Clerk Bob
Johnson, Attorney John Knapp, Police Chief Bill Lorentz.
A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Reber to accept minutes as presented.
Motion carried.
Old business: Attorney John Knapp reported the agenda ordinance as incomplete
at this time. Attorney Knapp reported Metropolitan Area Sewer Study and the
Stearns County sewer and water planning program as being duplications. Dick
Schroeder reported on Metro Council and recommended eouncil consider a mem- ií
bership. Meeting arranged for Monday, Feb 16, with members of Metro Council
be invited.
On motion by Schneider seconded by Schroeder Attorney John Knapp was instructed
to contact St. Benedicts and suggest annexation of all or the portion of -
its property containing structures into the Village proper. Motion carried
unanimouslY.
On motion by Schroeder seconded by Reber the liquor license applications of
Drake and Eric Dierkhising were approved unanimously. Vote was 5 - O.
Discussion of street replacement policy held by council.. Lorentz to check
specs for street restoration.
Bond fund1reinvestment question tabled for next meeting. I
A motion was made by Johnson to approve liquor license applications of Sal
Schneider as submitted. There was no second to the motion.
Letter of application from Jerry Pfannenstein for summer swim instructor
position presented by Dick Schroeder. Council agreed applications to be
processed by rec director Schroeder.
Preliminary plans and specs for filtration unit and hall addition to be examined
at Feb 16 meeting.
Motion made by Reber seconded by Schroeder to pay bills as presented. Motion
carried.
Villgge hall approved for Democratic cauces scheduled for Feb. 24.
Motion to adjourn made at 10:45 p.m.
