VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA
MINUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, MARCH 13, 1972
I The Village Council of the Village of St. Joseph met in regular session on Monday,
March 13, 1972 with the following members present: Mayor George Gustin, Councilmen,
Herman Schneider, Roman Reber, Bud Reber and Harvey Botz; Clerk Bob Johnson.
Absent Attorney John Knapp. Also present were: on agenda:
1) Attorney Dan Eller - representing Eastern Park Addn. to the Village of St.
Joseph.
Also present were: Engineers - Bob Ericson, Joe Bettendorf and Wal¡Y Honer, developer.
Cost factors and drainage questions were examined. Engineer requested a minimun
street grade of 4/10 grade - a 3611 width street mat - curb to curb. Location of
sanitary sewer lines were examined. June start of project e~imated by Engineers.
Hook-up charge question reviewed. A hook up charge will be extablished for each
lot for existing village improvements and facilities. Necessity of variance for
change to 4/10 grade determined not necessary.
Examination and recommendation necessary from St. Joseph Planning Commission to
council to approve grade reduction to 4/10%.
Street tie-in agreed upon to provide access to West from Eastern Park Addn. at
South end. Contractor Bill Gohman present regarding Water System Improvement project.
Final items necessary for completion to be listed and sent to contractor.
Final engineering cost statement examined and questions answered by engineer.
Additional check and determination of costs to be made with engineering firm.
I Minutes of February meeting tabled for next meeting.
Fire agreements with Rockville and St. Jofin's University are on file with fire
dept. as reported by councilman Botz.
Park land question: Rueben Weiner listed as chairman of fund committee.
Report of treatment plant repairs presented by Herman Schneider.
Council to examine costs of street sweeeping rentals.
The monthly report of fund balances was presented by Treasurer Leo Sadlo.
Request to send 2 or 3 men to fire school cost set at about $130.00 per man for
three days attendance in Mþls on April 26 - 27 - 28 presented by Fire Chief Mike
Loso.
Motion made by Herman Schneider seconded by Harvey Botz to approve attendance for
2 firemen at fire school. Voting for the motion were: Berman Schneider, Roman
Reber and Harvey Botz. Voting against motion Bud Reber. Motion carried.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to purchase copies A and B of
census schedule. Motion carried.
I Employe salary question: Council approved 5. 5fïncrease in salaries for Taufen and
Kierzek, a i% increase fo police chief Lorentz, Lorentz received an automatic
5% increase on Janl I, ---::')

Treasurer salary increase question tabled for additional information relating to
Wage and Price Controls. I
MDtion made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to issue a 3.2 non-intoxicating
liquor license to James and Frances Landwehr at Graffiti, Inc. Motion carried
unanimous ly .
Motion made by Herman Schneider seconded by Harvey Botz to pay bills as presented.
Motion carried.
Motion made to adjourn at 12:30 a.m.
