JOSEPH, MINNESOTA HINUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY JULY 6, 1972 Present - Mayor George Gustin, Councilman, Herman Schneider, Roman Reber, Bud I Reber and Harvey Botz - Attorney John Knapp and Village Engineer Joe Bettendorf. Absent - Clerk Bob Johnson (on vacation) Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Mayor Gustin. Park Refuse Service was represented to discuss a few complaints concerning barbage colletion. Garbage ,~ll be collected twice a week Mondays and Thursdays - collection will start in the village starting approx. 11:00 a.m. on those days. Council determined that senior citizens (over 65) will not be billed the $1.00 per month fee, altho they will still receive the services. Village dump to remain open on Saturdays from 12 to 6:00 p.m. but will adhere strictly to PCA regulations. On¡Y earthen fill, grass clippings, trees, branches etc. will be allowed. There will be an attendant on duty at the gate. Business places will contract with refuse service for their own refuse disposal. Motion was made by Herman Schneider, seconded by Harvey Botz to dispense with the reading last months minutes due to the absence of the clerk. Motion carried. Motion by Schneider seconded by Botz to purchase gas clorniator for sewage disposal plant to comply with PCA regulations. Cost is $695.00 purchased from Feed Rite Controls. Clorine cylinders cost $21.75 delivered. Motion carr~åd. I Attorney John Knapp was instructed to prepare weed cutting ord1nance. No burning will be permitted in village limits except by permit from the Fire Chief. Clerk to send Attorney Knapp copy of St. Johns and St. Joseph Fire agreement. Mayor Gustin informed council, of meeting on fire protection between St. Ben's and St. Joseph - present at that meeting Sr. Clyde, Sr. Luke, Mr. Stagner, Mayor Gustin; Counci~er, Fire Chief Mike Losò. l-10tion made by Bud Reber, seconded by Herman Schneider to conduct fire rating survey - Motion carried. Fire Dept. to present cost for 12 units of protective clothing to council. Burning ban restrictions to be published in papers. Motion by Bud Reber seconded by Harvey Botz to adopt A.P.C regulation No.8. Motion carried Village engineer reports: Construction on Eastern annexed area to begin week of July 9th. Contour maps of that area ar not availabel at present. Motion by Herman Schneider seconded by Bud Reber to have Engineer meet with St. Joseph Township officials to discuss lowering of road culvert and clean out- of roadside ditch to allow for storm sewer runoff, on 7th Ave. S.E. Attorney John Knapp was instructed to contact St. Ben's on sewer lift station I location. l-10tion to pay bills by Harvey Botz, seconded by Schneider. Notion carried.
