MINUTES OF SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 28, 1974
The City Council met in special session on Monday, January 28, 1974 at 7:30 p.m.
I at the Convent of St. Benedicts with the following members present: Mayor Harry
J. Knevel; Councilmen, Herman Schneider, Roman Reber, Bud Reber, Hugo Weyrens;
Clerk Bob Johnson; Fire Chief Mike Loso, Asst. Fire Chief Bill W~sner; Attorney
John Knapp. College officials present were Sr. Clyde, sr.~v~~, Sr. Moyra and
Mr. Fritz, business manager. Mayor Knevel explained purpose. V
Chief Loso presented an, equipment report -
Federal funding question to be explored.
Liability question posed by college officials - Attorney to make determination.
Request to consider convent and college as separate units vrith regard representations.
Federal funding fo~ equipment purchase to be explor~
Preliminary copy of agreement to be drawn up. Legal questions to be examined.
Attorney to provide agreement copies for college - convent. Clerk to provide
Sr. Clyde with Insurance Underwriter report on requirements of up-dating fire
protection.
Meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
Council met at 9:45 in city hall for special session with the following present:
Mayor Harry J. Knevel; Cou~cilmen Herman Schneider, Roman Reber, Bud Reber,
Hugo Weyrens, Clerk Bob Johnson, Attorney John Knapp.
I Review of Metro Sewer District proposed legislation held.
Reasons for letter of objection: local plant needs., are adequate - council approves
of Metro concept - completely. Request for more t~e to analyze proposal received
on January 25, 1974. Attorney to contact Metro AttorneyDonahue requesting addition-
al time to examine document.
Short letter of notice before deadline (Jan 31, 1974) copies to legislators -
by Attorney Knapp. Invitation to be presented to Gale Eastwood, engineer, metro
project for Metro Sewer Information. (Feb 4, 1974 - 7:30 or Feb. 13).
Moratorium request approval desirable.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to adjourn at 11 p.m.
