CITY OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA
MINUTES OF SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, APRIL 22, 1974
The city Counoil of the City of St. Joseph met in speli~al session on Monday, April
22, 1974 with the following members present:· Mayor Harry J. Knevel; Councilmen, I
Herman Schneider, Bud Reber and Hugo Wf}yrens. Absent: Councilman, Roman Reber.
Also present, Clerk Bob Johnson.
Clerk presented a report on the City census presently underway. Dates changed to:
April 20, to midnight May 5, 1974.
Council examined a new Professional Services Agreement submitted by MilnerW. Carley
& Associates, consulting engineers. Final acceptance tabled to allow the following
motion to be added to agreement: motion was made by Bud Reber, seconded by Hugo
Weyrens, to have city engineer represent only the city in all engineering projects.
Projects to be completed by city with all costs assumed by developer according to
city ordinances and requirements. Motion carried.
Report prQsented by clerk on St. Wendel Township fire protection meeting held on
April 16, 1974 in St. Wendel. The following actions were taken by the St. Wendel
Town Board: Moved to table Fire Protection Proposal until new assessed valuations
(1974) were all available. Moved to request City of St. Joseph to bond for total
cost of fire trucks and sell service to st. Wendel Township on a contract basis.
Residents from Pleasant Acres were not in attendance.
A motion was made by Herman Schneider, seconded by Hugo Weyrens, to publish in-
formation relating to the Fire Protection Proposal submitted to St. Wendel Township,
St. Joseph Township and the Convent-Colle~e of St. Benedict for consideration.
Motion carried.
Railroad re-location project information examined. Copy of letter from Public I
Service Commission to County Engineer presented and placed on file. Leter contained
request from County for plans, grades etc.; indicated approval may be warranted
and may be eligible for 90% Federal and 10% County funding.
Motion to adjourn meeting was made at 10:20 p.m.
