CITY OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA
MINUTES OF SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, MAY 13, 1974
The City Council of the City of St. Joseph met in speoial session on Monday,
I May 13, 1974 at 8 p.m. with the following members present: Mayor Harry J. Knevel;
Councilmen, Herman Scheœm.er, Roman Reber, Bud Reber and Hugo We;y.rens; Clerk Bob
Johnson';' Attorney John Knapp. Also present were: St. Joseph Township offioials:
Norb Eikmeier, Fred Reber, Del Terwey, Attorney John Pattison.
Purpose of meeting: Fire Protection - Planning program - City - Township.
Discussion opened on Joint Planning Commission establishment.
Article 1 of the planning resolution - change munber of sections: Sec. 1 through
18 of St. Joseph Township.
Motion made by Herman Schneider seconded by Roman Reber to adopt Joint Planning
Resolution establishing a joint commission of City and St. Joseph Township.
Motion carried.
Fire protection proposal to be re-evaluated and prepared with new assessed evaluations,
with St. Wendel and without St. Wendel Township. Request for grading of Township
street end of 1st Ave N.W. north of Highway 52 frontage road presented.
Meeting adjourned at 10:25 p.m.
Council reconvened at 10:30 p.m. Dutch Elm disease control program discussed.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to change no parking signs at
I Kay's Cafe to read: "No Parking on Roadway Anytime. Motion carried.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to approve lot classification of
Lot 15 Blk 2 Loso's 4th Addn. as requested by Stearns County Auditor. Motion carried.
Traffic control sign needs on 7th Ave S.E. to be examined.
Motion made by Bud Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to direct Police Chief Lorentz
to notify Great Plains to remove all materials from street right of ways.
Motion carried.
