CITY OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA
SPECIAL MEETING _ THURSDAY, JUNE ':!!Ò,1974 - 7:30 p.m.
The City Council of the City of St. Joseph met in special session on Thupsday, June
20, 1974, with the following members present: Mayor Harry J. Knevel; Councilmen,
Herman Schneider, Roman Reber, Bud Reber, Hugo Weyrens; Clerk Bob Johnson; Attomey I
John Knapp. Also present were: Chief Bill Lorentz, Police Reserves: John Knevel,
Randy Honer, Dan Meinz, Elmer Rakotz, Terry Schwab. Also present: Dan Nierengarten.
A motion was made by Herman Schneider seconded by Bud Reber to change the regular
meeting starting time to 7 p.m. beginning July 2, 1974. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Herman Schneider, seconded by Hugo Weyrens to condemn the Nick
Borresch mobile home and have unit removed from alley location because of fire and
health hazards. Motion carried.
Police Report on Agenda: Police Reserve Constitution and By-Laws were examined and
-eorrections made . Reserve Training program was outlined by Chief Lorentz. A motion
was made by Roman Reber seconded by Herman Schneider to approve Constitution.and
By-Laws of the St. Joseph Police Reserve Unit as corrected. New copies to be pro::
vided. Voting for the motion: Herman Schneider,. Bud Reber, Roman Reber, Harry Knevel.
Voting ágainst motion: Hugo Weyrens. Motion carried.
Certification of Peace Officers question re-examined - further clarification to be
obtained. A motion was made by Herman Schneider, seconded by Roman Reber to table
reserve compensation question,for 4th of Û:uly servicé, 'until July 2 meeting.
Council requested police call numbers be published.
A motion was made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to authorize purchase of
envelopes and letterheads·by police dept. Motion carried.
Fire Chief Mi~e Loso presented the expense statement for State Fire Conference.
Report on Conference presented by Loso.
A Motion was made by Bud Reber, seconded by Herman Schneider to replace chain saw
blade. Motion carried. Fire Truck'Jspecs question examined - Fire Chief Loso to
provide final specs. II
Use of Tri-CAP work program examined.
Motion to adjourn was made by Roman Reber, second¡z;gO Weyrens at 12: aJ a.m.
