CITY OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA
MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 22, 1974
The City Council of the City of St. Joseph met in special session on Thursday, Aug.
22, 1974 at 7 p.m. with the following members present: Mayor Harry J. Knevel; II
Councilmen Herman Schneider, Roman Reber, Bud Reber, Hugo Weyrens; Clerk Bob Johnson.
Minutes of July 2, July 18, Aug 8, Aug 15, 1974 presented and approved as presented.
A motion was made by Hugo Weyrens seconded by Bud Reber to require all requests to hold
a street dance be submitted +0# council for prior approval. Voting for motion: Hugo
Weyrens, Bud Reber, Roman Reber, Herman Schneider; against motion Harry J. Knevel.
Motion carried.
Jim Landwehr present regards annexation of east end properties 47 and 91 acre sites
requested council representation, engineer, planning commission members at an informa-
tional meeting - 24 lot site for present - Cloverdale Estates - Cost - deferrmentof
assessments - lift station - area beyond. Developer - Ted Merickel. Engineer study
to include area up to Miller Addn.
Motion was made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to authorize attorney, engineer
and clerk to attend an informational meeting relating to annexation of Cloverdale
Estates, Oakdale Development Corp - total of 138 acres - Motion carried.
Pat Schneider recreation director presented the summer recreation report - copy
on file.
Fire department salary and other pertenent questions to be deferred until fire
district proposal has been resolved on a motion by Herman Schneider seconded by II
Bud Reber. Motion carried.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to approve re-shindling, repaint-
ing, repairing of park shelter building under direction of recreation Donald E.
(Bud)Reber. Motion carried.
Motion made by Bud Reber seconded by Roman Reber to change Birch St. W. and Old
Hwy 52 intersection to a 3 way stop and stripe paint intersection approx 100 ft in
both directions on Old Hwy 52. Motion carried.
Duminek Bros street widening project cleanup being completed by city employees.
Sidewald survey in business area to be prepared.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to appoint the following election
judges: Rose M. Schneider, Ann Zwack, Verena Zierden, Irene Rassier, -
Counters - Herman Schneider, Roman Zwack, Merle Gretach, Bernard Kremer. Motion carried.
