CITY OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA
MINUTES OF SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 1974
The City Council of the City of St. Joseph met in special session on Thursday,
I November 21, 1974 with the following members present: Mayor Harry J. Kneve1;
Councilmen, Herman Schneider, Bud Reber, Hugo Weyrens; Clerk Bob Johnson;
absent Councilman Roman Reber. Also present was councilman elect Steven Dehler.
Letter presented from Attorney Knapp relating to a letter from Attorney Mike
Sullivan concerning the proposed fire protection proposal. (Leters placed on
file - copies made for council).
November 9, 1974 agenda re-examined and the following items were reviewed.
1. Police report -
a. Sheriffs office communications
b. Advisory commission
Clerk to dispatch letter to county commissioners requesting sheriff dept.
telephone answering service. Police advisory commission comcept was examined
and reviewed.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to recess for 5 minutes at
9:37 p.m.
Police reports of Nov. 9 and 16 were requested for examination by council. Work
of patrolman Clint Chamberlin examined by council with Chief Lorentz. Council
further examined appointment of Police Advisory Commission. Council to consider
possibility of a 5 member commission. Names to be submitted at next meeting
Dec 5, 1974.
I Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to approve attendance of Dick
Taufen and Ray Bechtold at a water school at Vocational. Motion carried.
Police Chief presented a request for office equipment - Motion was made by Bud
Reber seconded by Roman Reber to approve purchase of the following police office
equipment: desk $159.95 - office chair $49.95, typewriter stand $39.95 4 chairs
$16.50 each. Motion carried.
Motion made by Herman Schneider seconded by Roman Reber to adjourn at 11:30 p.m.
