HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973 [02] Feb 07 512 VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH MINUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY FEBRUARY 7, 1973 Members were Mayor Gustin, H. Schneider, Bud Reber, Roman Reber, Hugo Weyrens and Attorney Knapp. Meeting opened by Mayor Gustin - minutes recorded by Councilman Roman Reber until I 9:30 arrival time of clerk. NSP representative L. Johnson for street lighting and water pumping. Water pumping appliciation for one yeaP contracts to run concurently. Street lighting for five year period. Motion to accept street light contract by Herman Schneider 2nd by H. Weyrens. Motion passed unanimously. Motion to make appliciation for water pumping from NSP bt Herman Schneider 2nd by Bud Reber. Motion carried unanimously. J Dierkhissing reviewed plans for drive in at North College Ave and service road. Broom ball committee represented by Karnik, Mark Zimmer, Gerry Meyer, Greg Kapsner. Complaints by Mark Zimmer stating why they are restricted to one night a week. They are willing to help with up keep etc. Bud Reber to prepare schedule for skating. Lee Kapsner Postmaster presented problems of village waste paper containers in vicinity of post office. Village employees to remove said box. Howie Zimmer - Graffiti Pizza operator here to discuss law infractions - to attend I Feb 22 special meeting at 7 o'clock p.m. Clerk to notify Mr. Zimmer for hearing of liquor law violations - Motion by Bud Reber 2nd by Hugo Weyrens. Motion by Schneider 2nd by Weyrens to recline mot1mn by council to hockey rink hours and give Bud Reber authoriz tion to set hours. Joe Bettendorf reports broken sewer line replaced - warning system not installed as yet. Partial estimate No 6 for Molitor Excavating was presented. Clerk received copy. Presented plat map of Mohs 2nd Addn. Motion to approve plat by Weyrens 2nd by Bud Reber - Motion carried. Clerk Bob Johnson in attendance at 9:30 p.m. - discussion of Farm Fjund accounting held accountability to continue/. . ,\ Motion made by Herman Schneider seconded by Hugo Weyrens to approve amendment to Ordinance No. 58. Motion carried. Attorney Knapp to complete Mobile Home Ordinance prior to next meeting. Granite City Towing contract presented. I ,"':' 513 Motion was made by Hugo Weyrens seconded by Bud Reber to approve and adopt Granite City Towing contract as presented - effective day of publication for one year. Motion carried. I Harold Rothfork petition for re-zoning presented. Clerk to prepare publication for public hearing. Dick Taufen presented request for additional tools for village maintenance shop. Tool purchase approved. Hugo Weyrens reported on recreation grant possibility. More information to be secured. Appointment of Park Board to receive consideration at next meeting. Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to transfer $5000.00 back to water fund to replace original transfer to general revenue fund. Motion made by Herman Schneider seconded by Roman Reber to approve Taufen member- shop in American Water Works Assn. Motion carried. Motion was made by Herman Schneider seconded by Roman Reber to pay bills as presented. NSP contracts for sewerage and water pumping also street lighting were signed. Meeting adjourned at 12:20 ~.M.
