MINUTES OF HEARING AND REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY MAY 10, 1973 .

Public hearing on Hollow Park called to order by Mayor Gustin at 8:p.m.~ Mayor
Gustin, Bud Reber, Herman Schneider, Roman Reber, Hugo Weyrens, Attorney Knapp.
Clerk Bob Johnson arrived at 8:30. I
Questions of traffic control were presented by Ed Kacures and other Park Terrace
residents.
A motion was made by Schneider seconded by Hugo Weyrens to continue hearing at
the next regular meeting after consulting with village engineer - motion carriqd.
Hearing adjourned.
Hearing with East End residents relating to street surfacing was continued
at this time, present were: Ed Hoffman, Leander Zipp, Arnold Lauer.
Mayor reported W.C. Honer would not pay for street stub surfacing into Eastern
Park. Attorney John Knapp reported W. C. Honer purchased property as part of
Eastern Park and dedicated said property for street purposes.
Council felt residents had a legitmate complaint - regarding street assessment
because of the greater benefit to Eastern Park as access road.
Motion was made by Hugo Weyrens seconded by Bûd Reber to table indefinetely
Street Imp. No. 1973 for further study. Motion passed unanimously.
Hearing continuation of Ohio St. and alley vacation. Explanation of error in
triangle portion of property cited. (surveyor error) Triangle contained 3162
sq ft rather than 6300 sq ft. I
Motion was made by Roman Reber seconded by Herman Schneider to vacate Ohio
Stre~t and abutting_ alley. $ale of additional property to M~~or Enterprises
Inc., Lee Rebiscke, president, to fulfill requirements to construct 8 plex.
Property contains: 19 feet of street vacation, 8 feet by 100 ft of alley
vacation; 31 sq ft of triangle approved on motion by Herman Schneider seconded
by Roman Reber. Motion passed unanimously.
Bill Gohman presented plans for meat market addition: 24 X 48 addn.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to approve permit applica-
tion of Meat Market upon receipt of State Health Dept. and PCA approval.
Motion passed unanimously.
Special council meeting to be held on May 17, 1973 at 7:30 p.m. Planning
Commission to be invited.
Engineer Joe Bettendorf presented written report on filtration plant and fire
hall addition. Photos presented showing some cracks on north wall - report
and photos placed on file. Design questioned for lack of control joints by
council. Motion made by Hugo Weyrens, seconded by Bud Rebèr to approve final
payment ot Gohman Construction and acceptance of engineers report. Motion passed.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to decline the motion approv-
ing Meat Market permit due to zoning ordinance 59 conforming use conflict. I
Motion passed.
Engineer reported bids in for Eastern Park Addn. surfacing - Tri-City having
submitted low bid. Engineer to provide bid tabulation report for file. Project
start next week.

Restoration of Eastern Park in progress - engineer to examine restoration -
another report to be presented at next meeting.
Mike Loso - fire chief - presented request to send 3 firemen to convention -
I total cost $450.00.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Henman Schneider to approve request.
Loso reported need for replacement on Chevrolet fire truck.
Specs for fire equipment to be secured by fire chief and presented to council.
Dick Taufen presented request for sweeper for hall carpeting.
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to approve purbhase of
unit described by Taufen. (cost $25.00)/
Motion made by Roman Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to send letter to Howard
Bick to remove building considered hazardous within 30 days.
Motion made by Herman Schneider seconded by Roman Reber to purchase used
mower from Bill Wasner for $50.00. Motion carried.
Park Terrace streets to be examined by council.
Motion made by Herman Schneider seconded by Bud Reber to table minutes
until next council meeting.
I Bills presented - approved for payment on motion by Herman Schneider seconded
by Roman Reber.
