MINUTES OF SPECIAL VILLAGE COU}TCIL 1~ETING HELD ON MONDAY, JULY 9, 1973
The Village council of the Village of St. Joseph met in special session on Monday,
July 9, 1973 at 8:25 p.m., following a Zoning Board of Adjustment and Appeals hearing, I
with the following members present: Mayor George Gustin; COlL~cilmen, Rom~n Reber,
Bud Reber, Clerk Bob Jo1L~son. Absent: CotLncilmen Herman Schneider ~~d Hugo Weyrens.
Other persons present were: Mr. and Mrs. James Landwehr, 1~. and 1~s. Dick Schroeder,
Mr. and Mrs. DÒÍl Hoodècheck, Mr. and,Mrs.BillKlett, Bill Lorentz.
Purpose of meeting: to examine ~nd act upon Zoning Board recommendation of variance
approval for James Landwehr relating to construction of single-family residence on
Lot 29 Park Terrace.
James Landwehr presented a petition containing 28 signatures of area residents approving
his request for variance. (Petition placed on file.) A group discussion of the matter
followed.
Councilm~n Bud Reber questioned size fo structure in relation to permit granted, and
believed a violation of ordinance existed. Building Inspector, Roman Reber indicated
permit was issued excluding pool section of construction project. Cement blocks for
pool section were included in intiial construction start.
A motion was made by Roman Reber to approve variance as recommended by Planning
Commission. Mayor Gustin vacated chair to second motion. Voting for motion : Roman
Reber, George Gustin. Voting against motion: Bud Reber. Motion passed 2 - 1.
A motion was made by Roman Reber seconded by Bud Reber to instruct engineer to prepare
specs on Park Terrace street repair project. Question also to be referred to village
attorney. Motion passed. I
Motion to adjourn was ,ade at 9:25 p. m.
