HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973 [10] Oct 04 539 VILLAGE OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA MINUTES OF REGULAR VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4, 1973 The Village Council of the Village of st. Joseph met in regular session on Thursday Oct. 4, 1974 with the following members present: Acting Mayor Herman Schneider, I Councilmen, Bud Reber, Hugo Weyrens, Clerk Bob Johnson, Attorney John Knapp, Engineer Joe Bettendorf. Absent Roman Reber, councilman. Mike Loso presented specs on fire hall storage cabinets and specs on fire fighting equipment needed by the department. Copies to be prepared for council members. Check workmens comp coverage for fire personel to and from fires. Hub Klein - representing Avon Lumber - present regarding Hollow Park development project. Final plat presented for examination. Review of final plat requirements held. Indemnity bond to be considered. Motion made by Bud Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to approve final plat of Hollow Park development as presented subject to all ease- ment and bond requirements of Sec. 5 Sub section 1 of Subdivision regulations Ordinance No 55 - pages 15 - 16. Motion passed unanimously. Paul Molitor and foreman were present regarding Eastern Park sewer and water project. Engineer reviewed minor descrepanicies necessary for final project completion - completion and corrections to be made on Friday, Oct. 7, 1973. Engineer Bettendorf recommended approval based upon his final examination of project on Friday. Motion made by Hugo Weyrens seconded by Bud Reber to approve final pay- ment based on engineer's final inspection and report. Motion carried. Bill Gohman inquiry regards tabling of creamery buildin~ Droject. Informed by council a special meeting would be held and he would be notified. I Minutes of September meetings approved as presented. Engineer reported on Water Main Extension project on Loso 7th Addn. and presented estimate No. 1 for payment. Motion made by Bud Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to approve payment of Estimate No 1 as presented by Engineer. Motion made by Hugo Weyrens seconded by Bud Reber to approve payment of Hardrives Estimate No 1 total and final payment on Park Terrace streett repair project No. 73-84. Motion carried. Engineer recommended purchase of chemical for wet well at lift station from Anderson Chemical, Litchfield Discussion on assessment role for total Watermain Extension No 73 - 183 - $10,776.00. Manor Enterprises: Lots 1 and 2 ------ 3,888.00 Lots 5 and 6 ------ 750.00 4,638.00 st. Need for trafic violation tickets to conform with county court system also reported by Chief Lorentz. Traffic violation ticket charges to be up-dated and acquired. I Leo Sadlo presented the monthly fund report. Lorentz requested purchase of shotgun, camera, - new barrel for pistol - prices to be obtained. Dog problems cited. Motion made by Hugo Weyrens seconded by Bud Reber to appoint the following members to the St. Joseph Park Board: Bill Lowell, Dave Keller, Pete Giraux, Rudy Gapko, M. Jo~c. E- ~Stock, Albert Schloemer, Bill Lorentz, Ted Duncan, Frank Lehner, Jerry Rennie, I Georgie Merkling. Motion made by Hugo Weyrens seconded by Bud Reber to approve installation of cabinets in fire hall at a total cost of $877.70 -submitted by Great Plains. Motion carried. Application of Donald Hartig to fire department approved on motion by Bud Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens. Motion carried. Great Plains quote for 30 x 30 pole building presented at $1950.00. Motion made by Bud Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to approve pole building project by Great Plains. Motion carried. V.F.W Auxiliary request for street closing - Ash St. from College to 1st Ave N.W. for 25th anniversary celebration. Approved on motion by Hugo Weyrens seconded by Bud I Reber. Motion carried. Special meeting set for Thursday Oct 11th 8 p.m. Motion made by Bud Reber seconded by Hugo Weyrens to approve variance request of ~v ceme£ery for 8 x 12 addn. to present holding vault as recommended by Zoning Board ~)\)f\\!- ~s. Motion carried. Bills approved for payment on motion by Hugo Weyrens seconded by Bud Reber. Motion carried. Motion to adjourn made at 1:15 A.M.
