JOSEPH, MINNESOTA MINUTES OF SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY FEBRUARY 10, 1975 The City Council of the City of St. Joseph met in special session on Monday, Feb. 10, 1975 with the following members present: Mayor Harry J. Knevel; Councilmen I Herman Schneider, Bud Reber, Hugo Weyrens, Steve Dehler; Clerk Bob Johnson; Attorney John Knapp. Fire protection meeting opened at 8 p.m. the following Township officials were present: Chairman, Norb Eikmier, Supervisors, Fred Reber, Del Terwey, Clerk David Thralow, Attorney John Pattison. Township officials presented a counter-proposal for city officials consideration. Attorney John Knapp reported St. Bens would contribute $40,000 toward truck purchase. Question of using city's tax exempt only - dropping all tax exempt of convent - college. Clerk to break down the following tax exempt properties and deduct from city tax exempt total: church, rectory, parking area, schools, cemetery, fire hall, water tower, well No.1, well No 2. City Council proposal on equipment purchase (fire trucks) to be on a 60% township, 40% city basis. College - Convent contribution to be first deducted from total cost. Yearly operating costs apportioned on a yearly assessed valuation basis. A motion to adjourn was made at 10:30 p.m. ~f!~ Harry J. Knevel, Mayor I I
