34 CITY OF ST. JOSEPH, MINNESOTA
MINUTES OF SPECI~LCITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11, 1975
The City Council of the City of St. Joseph met in special session on Thursday, Dec.
11, 1975 at 8 p.m. with the following members present: Mayor Harry J. Knevel;
Councilmen, Herman Schneider, Hugo Weyrens, Steve Dehler; .Clerk Bob Johnson, I
(abse*t: Bud Reber - illnes). St. Joseph Townshíp officials present were: Norb
Eikmeier, Del Terwey,Fred Reber, Clerk David Thralow.
Purpose of meeting to review and discuss fire protection matters.
A motion was made by Del Terwey, Township Supervisor , seconded by Norb Eikmeier
chairman to approve 60% township ~ 40% city as cost apportionment for new fire truck
purchase. .Motion carried.unanimously.
A motion was made by Herman Schneider.seconded by Hugo Weyrens to approve purchase
of used calculator at $160.00 from Chader Business Equipment for clerk's office.
A motiòn Wlis made by Hugo·Weyrens seconded by Steve Dehler to return Gamades Apt
application to Planning Commission for consideration of layout change in plan to
retain 20 ft side yard requirement according to requests by abutting properties
at the public hearing held on Dec 8, 1975. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Steve Dehler seconded by Hugo Weyrens to approve the following
bills for payment: Krebsbach Motors Notch 76, Wasner, Hardrives, check numbers 10368
10379, 10370, 10371, 10372, 10373, 10374, 10375, 10376. Motion carried.
Motion made by Hugo Weyrens seifonded by Steve Dehler, City Attorney John Knapp to be
advised to prepare District Fire Contract proposal. Clerk. to notify ( Feb 1 deadline).
Township to determine legal position and necessity of referendum for participating
in District comcept. I
Response to St. Bens (Dennis Sullivan letter) everyone to re-examine. Clerk to
respond to stipulation letter relating to fire district and contribution.
A motion was made by Herman Schneider seconded by Steve Dehler to approve attendance
of Hugo W~yrens and Ben Dremer at Subdivision Regulation Workshop, St. Johns Mall -
$10.00 each fee - Motion carried.
Township~o:ffiC:ià.ls· further. .ag1'~eÔ;~ Wo re-imburse city for additional payment to
Tenvoorde Motor Co. on chassiS -amount of $2,824.80. Township also agreed to send
check before end of Dec (1975) to prevent deficit in farm fire fund at years end.
Yearly operating costs to be on yearly current assessed valuations.
Motion made to adjourn at 11:30 p.m.
