BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: The Facility Committee met to
discuss the current and future needs for the City Offices/Police. It was their recommendation that the
Council pursue constructing the building that was designed for the current site and place that building on
the Colts Academy site, connecting the two. Additionally they recommended the Council sell the existing
facility.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: At the August 3 the Council committee members reported on the
meeting of the facility committee and indicated the first step in the process if the building is to be sold is
appraising the building.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City Attorney has provided price quotes from three
appraisers in the area that they are familiar with, recommending Granite City Appraisals, Ron Zitzow.
The cost is estimated between S 3,500—4,000. He would have time to conduct the appraisal in late
August with a report to the Council by mid to late September.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: S up to 4,000

REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Authorize the hiring of Granite City appraisal to complete an
appraisal of the City Office facility for a fee not to exceed S 4,000.
