MEETING DATE: February 8, 2016
AGENDA ITEM: Farmers Market
Relocate in Downtown
SUBMITTED BY: Administration
PREVIOUS PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION:
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Farmers Market has been looking at options for moving the market
to the downtown area. They have recently been meeting with the Church of St.Joseph and College of
St. Benedict to relocate the market on the parking lot at the intersection of MN Street and College
Avenue.
The Ordinance for B1, Central Business District requires that the Planning Commission approve the plan
for Farmer's Market in the downtown. Attached is the proposed layout of the market. Another item of
concern is the accessory building. The Ordinance does not allow for an accessory building without a
principal structure, so the option would be to move each Friday. The building is on wheels, and they
would like to discuss the possibility of leaving at the site for the market season.
