AGENDA ITEM: Up Date Gear
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: NFPA standard states fire gear needs to be replaced every 10 years.
The Fire chief has been trying to spread this out to avoid a huge cost at one time, by buying a few sets
each year. This year we will only have 2 sets to purchase for the 2 newest members (Hunt&Voigt) once
they have completed their minimum requirements. This should happen this year.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: 2 sets of gear, Pant and Coat, at an estimated cost of$1575.00 per set
once they have completed their minimum requirements.
ATTACHMENTS: None
REQUESTED ACTION: Fire Board approve the purchase of 2 sets of new gear to replace the out dated
gear.
Note: All current gear will have been updated and any new gear in the next 6 years will be for only new
members.
