Dear Ms.Weyrens:
On behalf of Albert Schindler and Alphonse Schindler I am requesting a lot split wherein.3
acres will be conveyed to Carl Schindler and attached to his property.
Enclosed you will find a survey of the three lots in question. It is important to understand
the history to understand the request. (See Exhibit A.)
Prior to February 19, 2002,Alphonse A. Schindler owned the lot marked as 1A on the
survey. This lot was comprised of.63 acres. (See Exhibit B.)
Prior to February 19, 2002,Albert J. Schindler owned the lot marked as 2A on the survey.
That lot was comprised of.3 acres. (See Exhibit C.)
Both of the above lots were separate lots within the City of St. Joseph and were located at
1000 East Minnesota Street and 1006 East Minnesota Street.
Because of insurance concerns,the insurance company requested that the two lots be
joined together. Accordingly,on February 20, 2002,Susan Dege prepared a quit claim deed
in which the two lots were conveyed to both Alphonse A. Schindler and Albert J. Schindler
wherein both individuals owned both lots. These two lots were then combined under one
PID number. (See Exhibit D.)
Neither Albert Schindler nor Alphonse Schindler is in good health. They would like to
convey lot 2A to their nephew, Carl Schindler,who owns the adjoining lot marked as 3A on
the attached survey.

We are requesting from the Ciry approval of this lot split. Actually,is it not a lot split since
each of these three lots was a separate lot prior to 2002. Nevertheless,the land which Carl
Schindler will now own (consisting of lots 3A and 2A) will meet the minimum lot size for
the City of St.Joseph. The remaining lot 1A owned by Alphonse and Albert will also meet
the minimum lot size.
We are enclosing a copy of a warranty deed conveying Lot 2a to Carl Schindler. (See
Exhibit E.)
It is our understanding that this should be approved by resolution of the City Council.
Would you kindly submit this for approval to the Council.
