BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: EDA reviewed the Lodging
Tax ordinance and proposed fees.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Council adopted the 2016 fee schedule on December 7, 2015.
Ordinance drafts were reviewed along with proposed fees.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
BULK WATER RATES:
Staff reviewed the water salesman bulk water process and found the fee structure is difficult to set up in
the equipment. Staff is proposing to charge a flat fee to cover the overhead costs of the system and then a
per gallon fee for the usage. In essence, the fee structure will be similar to the line charge and usage rate
charged to City customers. The proposed water salesman rates are set at a premium for the service and
sales tax is charged.
Base Fee $10.00
Usage Rate $5.00/1,000 gallons
LODGING TAX:
Both the EDA and the Council have reviewed the proposed lodging tax ordinance. The ordinance
approval is a separate action for the Council this evening. The proposed tax to be considered is for
renting or leasing of lodging for a continued period of less than 30 days.
Lodging Tax 3% of gross receipts
CONFECTIONERS/FOOD TRUCK:
The proposed ordinance allows for a food truck to sell their product in the City based on an annual fee.
License $80.00 per calendar year
