AGENDA ITEM: Government Center—Monument Sign

BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION: Staff forwarded to the Facility
Committee some options for the monument sign for the Government Center and they were split as to
whether or not to include a digital sign. Some thought that since the facility abutted a residential
neighborhood the sign should not be digital, others thought it should be digital to provide announcements.
PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Included with the meeting material are three different options for
the monument sign. One of the proposals discussed was backlighting the skyline on the sign for effect.
Mike Juhl from HMA will be at the meeting for the discussion. The building and infrastructure is at a
point where a decision must be made.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: To be determined
