HomeMy WebLinkAbout[04g] Bad Habit Outdoor Permit 11 Council Agenda Item 4g MEETING DATE: September 19, 2016 AGENDA ITEM: Outdoor Liquor Permit—Requested Action: Authorize the Mayor and Administrator to execute the Outdoor Liquor Permit for Bad Habit Brewing for an event to be held on October 10, 2016. SUBMITTED BY: Administration PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: Issuance of the required liquor licenses to operate an on sale liquor establishment. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Ordinance 701 includes a provision for outdoor liquor events. Establishments can apply for an outdoor event provided they submit an application that includes details about the event and includes information regarding security, site management and noise. The application is then forwarded to the Police Chief for review. The outdoor sales can only occur on property in control of the license holder and must be connected. In the case of Bad Habit Brewing, they are requesting an outdoor event that includes the parking are that they do not have control of, however, it is connected. Therefore, Bad Habit Brewing has received authorization from the property owner of the parking lot to grant permission to use the parking area. The parking area is contiguous to the patio area so it is connected and a permit can be secured. The application has been reviewed by the Police Chief and he has recommended the Council approve. From Administration, the applicant has provided all the required information and there is nothing the prohibit approval of the event. The proposed event is scheduled for October 8, 2016 between the hours of 2 PM and 6 PM. Especially in the evening. - Proper access for residents and businesses and their guest or customers is not obstructed, along with any access that the City needs for safety. - Bad Habit extends its liability insurance to cover use of the Association' property it will be held on and a copy is provided to to the Association's management company at least 5 days prior to the event. - Bad Habit notifies all residents and business owners the plans for the day and addresses any concerns they have.
