Outlot C within that final plat was dedicated as a public drainage and utility easement for a ponding area. The City Council approved the final plat for College 4d'Addition on August 22, 2016 to accommodate the construction of Athletic Facilities for the College of St.Benedict(CSB). BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Outlot A within College 4d'Addition will be a drainage and utility easement. The drainage area was reconfigured a bit from the previous College 2nd Addition plat. The athletic facilities will include an internal trail, which is proposed to encroach on the existing easement(Outlot C, College 2nd Addition). Pavement cannot encroach with the drainage and utility easement and therefore, CSB is requesting approval to vacate the drainage and utility easement over Outlot C, College 2nd Addition. Since the easement is dedicated to the public, the City Council must hold a public hearing and conclude that it is in the best interest of the public to release the easement. JOSEPH Resolution 2016-054 RESOLUTION VACATING A DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENT OUTLOT C, COLLEGE 2ND ADDITION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of St. Joseph held a public hearing following publication, mail and posted notice for the purpose of hearing those present to consider the vacation of a public drainage and utility easement within the City of St. Joseph; and WHEREAS,it appeared in the best interests of the public and the City of St. Joseph that such a public easement be vacated and discontinued.
