BOARD/COMMISSION/COMMITTEE/COUNCIL RECOMMENDATION: The City Council
approved the implementation of a lodging tax,with collection beginning June 1,2016.
PREVIOUS EDA ACTION: The EDA invited Julie Lunning from the St. Cloud Visitor Bureau to
discuss participation. This discussion was a result of the City implementing a lodging tax and the funds
are limited to marketing. Participation in the organization could maximize the contributions received by
the City.
As the EDA was uncertain as to the amount of tax that would be collected,they deferred action.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City has received the first six months of lodging tax,with a
December 31,2016 unaudited balance of$7,676.50.
