AGENDA ITEM: Class B Uniforms
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: All current members of the fire department receive a button up shirt
and a black coat that is paid for through the fire budget. The department would like to upgrade this to
a Class B uniform,which would consist of a button up shirt, pant, belt, boot,name tag,and badge. This
Uniform would be worn at special meetings,fundraising activities,open houses,fire prevention,fire
department funerals, and dedication ceremonies.....ect. This uniform would also show the community
that these members are proud of what they do.
We are one of the few departments in the area that do NOT have these and there are some department
have these and a Class A Uniform.
The cost for the Uniform is around the$320.00 per member. For the shirt and coat they receive now,
the cost is$148.45.
BUDGET/FISCAL IMPACT: 30 members @ 320.00 each=$9,600.00.
Budget would increase roughly$172.00 per new member.
The fire department has voted and agreed to help offset the cost of the first
30 sets out of our Relief Assoc.General Fund.

REQUESTED ACTION: Approval from the fire board to move forward with the Class B Uniforms. Also
agree to how we will fund the first 30 sets and agree that the fire board will fund each new members set
there after. .
