HomeMy WebLinkAbout[03] January Minutes St Joseph Park Board Minutes January 23, 2017 6:00 p.m. St. Joseph City Hall Members Present: John Anderson(Chairman), Marguerite Fogarty(Secretary), Andrew Deuhs, Sharon Rennie, Jodi Keehr, Matt Killam(Councilor Liaison), Terry Thene I. Call to Order: 6:20 p.m. I Approval of Minutes: Approved III.Approval of Agenda: Approved IV Treasurers Report: Approved V. Liaison Reports: Matt Killam: (See review of Millstream status) Terry Thene: The skating rink is damaged due to weather and misuse;people using sleds on the rink. The crew is ready to do stump grinding at Klinefelter. There will be an Open House at the new Government Center on Feb. 6, from 2:00-5:00, with a dedication at 5:00. VI. Old Business: A. Doe Park: Mary Munden has been soliciting donations. Y2K Lions will donate brat sales from April with a minimum of$500 going toward the dog park. An Eagle Scout approached John about developing Little Libraries. John will suggest he either work on the existing libraries or assist with the dog park. B. Review of Millstream Status: The building approval was tabled by the Council pending more information regarding Bid Documents. R.A. Morton will prepare this. C. Update of Conact Information: Board Members are encouraged to check City website to see if contact information is current. D. Other Old Business: None VII. New Business: A. Wetteriin2 Memorial: John was contacted and asked to attend a meeting on Wednesday regarding a memorial. He plans to attend, if possible. B. East Park: $20,000 was proposed in last year's budget to begin work on an access to the park. Discussion was held about having a Master Plan including engineer's opinions regarding the flood plain in the area. Discussion will continue. Terry will provide a map for the Park Board to look at and to enable further discussion. C. Priorities for 2017 1. Millstream Building 2. Photo update of parks for website 3. Dog Park(fund raising progress) 4. East Park preliminary planning 5. Gazebo and walking trails at Klinefelter 6. Potential property available for a park near Fortitude Project 7. Trail connections (Terry will provide a map) D. Other New Business All Boards meeting coming up. VIII.Adiournment: 7:20
