BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Earlier this year Evan Carlson from Innovative Power Systems had
called regarding the status of the OAA. During discussion it was pointed out that he had told the Board
in 2016 that he would provide additional information regarding solar gardens and the Board did not
receive additional information. He requested to be on the agenda in January, but as we did not have
any business, it was delayed until a meeting was scheduled.
IPS is working on an application for a solar garden, but they are not ready yet. This agenda item is only
information and is not regarding a future application for Conditional Use as that would require a public
hearing. Therefore, his comments should be limited to solar gardens in general so that the hearing
process is not circumvented.
