HomeMy WebLinkAbout[03] February Minutes St Joseph Park Board Minutes February 27, 2017 6:00 p.m. Saint Joseph Government Center Members Present: John Anderson(Chairman), Marguerite Fogarty(Secretary), Andrew Deuhs, Sharon Rennie, Jodi Keehr, Alissa Rennie Matt Killam (Councilor Liaison), Terry Thene (Staff Liaison) 1. Call to Order and welcome to Alissa Rennie: 6:00 p.m. 2.Approval of Minutes: Approved 3.Approval of Agenda: Approved 4. Treasurers Report: Motion to approve made by Jodi, seconded by Sharon. 5.Liaison Reports: A. Matt Killam: Improvement plan of alleys in the downtown area still moving forward. B. Terry Thene: Bleacher roofs of softball field are off. Terry suggested that"Bennie Day of Appreciation" could be used to paint bleachers. 6. Old Business: A.Doe Park: Mitchell Grelson attended the meeting in order to plan his Eagle Scout project which needs to be completed by mid-May. John suggested that the project could be to provide a comfortable place where dog owners could relax. This could include picnic tables, trees, etc. Mitchell would raise the funds necessary. Terry recommended that this area be planned before Mitchell proceeds. Soil corrections would have to be made, and this is a good time to take care of that. It was decided that Mitchell, Terry, John and Andrew will visit the location and plan the project. B.Review of Millstream Building Status: R.A. Morton,potential project manager, is reviewing specs. The specs will include a `heated' as well as `unheated' plan. When bids come in, the Council will make a decision. C. 2017 Priorities: These priorities include: Dog Park Millstream Building Beginning a plan for East Park D. Jacob Wetterlin Memorial: John met with a group to plan this memorial. The direction seems to be in dedicating some space in the Community Center. E. Other Old Business: None 7. New Business: A. East Park Essential Elements: 1. Canoe area, including parking availability 2. Unpaved walking trails, including sitting areas 3. Bathroom facilities (rentals) 4.Picnic area Current farmed area will remain for the time being. B. Community Center: No new information C. Comprehensive Plan Update: On March 7"', a meeting of the Joint Groups will take place. On March 8"', there will be a meeting for the Comprehensive Plan. Park Board Members are encouraged to attend. D. Other New Business: None 8.Adiournment: 6:51
