HomeMy WebLinkAbout[03] March Minutes St Joseph Park Board Minutes March 27, 2017 6:00 p.m. St. Joseph Government Center Members Present: John Anderson (Chairman), Marguerite Fogarty (Secretary), Andrew Deuhs, Sharon Rennie, Jodi Keehr, Matt Killam (Councilor Liaison), Terry Thene (Staff Liaison) , Allissa Rennie (absent due to illness) l. Call to Order: 5:58 p.m. ll. Approval of Minutes: Approved lll. Approval of Agenda: Approved lV Treasurers Report: Jodi made a motion to approve. Sharon seconded. V. Liaison Reports: Matt Killam: Matt gave the current Field Street report. The Millstream Building was approved to continue with bid documents. One change was made by adding a double door to the west side. Terry Thene: Field Street project begins again tomorrow. The Centennial soffit has been torn down again. Terry is acquiring quotes on barn steel to replace it. He has been getting quotes on fence bids for the dog park. These bids will include with and without bottom rail. These quotes will be sent to the Park Board when received. Vl. Old Business: A. Dog Park Fund Raising and Eagle Scout Project: Mitchell Grelson, Eagle Scout volunteer, attended the meeting. John, Matt, Terry and Mitchell met at the dog park location after the last meeting. The area was selected for Mitchell to lay a 16x16 or 16x20 area with paving stones for pet owners to relax. He will build at least one (handicap accessible) picnic table and plant approximately six trees. This area would be close to the north end of the dog park on a piece of higher ground near the 10x10 entrance. Jodi suggested that we may need a road sign and dog park rules. The suggestion was made that a $10 donation for dog park use is recommended for those purchasing dog licenses. The Board discussed the possibility of including a donation box at the park. Matt has spoken to and applied online for donations from businesses. He had cards printed to be placed at local businesses for donations. th Bad Habit will hold a fund raising event on May 20. Funds will have to be raised before fencing is purchased. B. Review of Millstream Building Status: See Matt Killam’s report. C. East Park Essential Elements: Terry will re-send photos to the Board. There were no new additions to previous discussion, except that the Board would like the opportunity to walk the area with the engineer. Weather permitting, we will tentatively th meet at 5:00 at East Park on April 24 during our regularly scheduled meeting. Terry will confirm. D. Community Center: John attended the last planning meeting. E. Other Old Business: None. Vll. New Business: A. Comprehensive Plan Update: A survey is available through a link on the City website. B.
