AGENDA ITEM: Fire Chief's Report
• Our latest three members are in the process of going through their FF1 class,followed by
Hazmat and FF2. We have one member,Justin Hunt,who joined the department on January
12, 2016 that needs to get his Class B lic w/Tanker endorsement done. He has 2 years from
start date to complete.
• The Chief and Assistant Chief met with representatives from Gold Cross,Stearns County
Dispatch,St.Joe Police, and the City of St.Joseph to discuss the volume of calls we are getting
where Gold Cross is on scene when we arrive. All departments are going to continue to
monitor the numbers and may meet again if anyone feels we need to change anything.
• With the approval of the Fire Board in February,the department purchased new Class A
uniforms for 24 members,with the funding coming all out of our General Fire Relief account.
We have 4 members who are on probation yet and will get theirs when all their requirements
are completed. We also have 2 members that chose not to get them yet because they are
uncertain about the future with the department at this time.
• The members have been very busy so far this year responding to paged out calls
sine the 1st of the year (123 days)
