HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017 [03] Mar 15 March 15, 2017 Page 1 of 1 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the St. Joseph Economic Development Authority met on Wednesday March 15, 2017 at 5:00 PM in the St. Joseph City Hall. Members Present: Chair Dale Wick. Board Members Doug Danielson, Gary Osberg, Rick Schultz, EDA Director/Administrator Judy Weyrens Members Absent: Larry Hosch Citv Representatives Present: Community Development Director Therese Haffner Others Present: None Chair Dale Wick called the St. Joseph Economic Development Authority meeting to order at 5:02 PM Public Comments: No one present wished to speak. Aqenda Aqproval: Wick removed 5c Request for Membership—Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation. This will on next month's agenda. Osberg made a motion to approve the agenda as amended, seconded by Schultz and passed unanimously by those present. Consent Aqenda: Wick made a motion to approve the consent agenda as follows; seconded by Danielson and passed unanimously by those present. a. Minutes-Approved the minutes of January 18, 2017. b. Financial Report-Accepted the January/February 2017 Financial Report as presented but requested staff to verify the stipends. EDA Director Reports Development Activities and Studv Updates:Weyrens provided an overview of the development activity that occurred in 2016 and so far in 2017. Weyrens presented the planning projects and studies that were underway, including the Comprehensive Plan update, CSAH 75 Pedestrian Crossing Study, and planning for the Community Center. Future opportunities were shared, including potential residential and commercial development with the completion of Field Street, Parkway Business Center development, future growth area development, and commercial development near I-94.Wick questioned who was responsible for the TIF expenses for the Bayou Blues project.Weyrens shared that the Developer is responsible for the expenses. Osberg questioned when the school district was moving out.Weyrens replied June of 2018. Osberg questioned water capacity and how many water towers there were. Weyrens said the city has six wells and two water towers and a future water tower is planned to be located at the public works facility property located on Elm Street. Osberg questioned if there would be an annual EDA report completed. Weyrens said there would be and the development highlights presented would be incorporated in the report. Board Member Announcements:Weyrens said with the lodging tax funding coming into the city there will be discussion on marketing at a future meeting.
