$8,100 to add fencing to Centennial Park utilizing CIP Funds

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Staff was called by the owner of Rock Investments who
owns the town homes on the North side of Centennial Park on Old Highway 52. The owner
questioned the placement of yellow post that appeared to be placed on his property. The yellow
post were installed many years ago to delineate the park from the rental units. At the time they
were placed parking of tenants was leaching into the park. In reviewing property lines it was
determined that the posts were in fact placed on his property. The property owner has requested
that the City move the posts from his property as soon as possible. He indicated that keeping the
posts on his property requires additional lawn maintenance adding costs. Further he stated that
he does not need the posts.
The City does benefit from a barrier from the rental units as it stops cars from parking in the
park, doesn’t allow for loading and unloading of cars for the rental units and helps minimize
debris in the park area. While posts could be placed on City property to mirror was has been in
place, I am recommending that a fence be installed to match the existing fence.
Funds are available in CIP 1414 Future Park Improvements. The current balance in the
designated CIP is $ 28,811.49
BUDGET IMPACT: $ 8,100.00

Description: Furnish and install 300’ of 5’ high black commercial chain link fence with top/mid and
bottom rail-no gates. All air driven posts 3’ down.
Prevailing wages not included!
All brushing & removal of brush must be done prior to installation by owner.
Certificate of insurance is available upon request. All site preparation including grading, clearing, brushing, mowing, debris removal
or disposal shall be by others. Signature on proposal indicates agreement with Oberg terms and conditions provided. Signed proposal
and P.O. or 1/2 down are necessary to begin the scheduling process, balance is due upon completion. We will furnish material and
labor in accordance with the above description for the sum of:
$ 8,102.00
Any alteration or deviation from above specifications involving extra costs will be executed only upon written orders, and will become
an extra charge over and above the estimate. Owner to carry fire, tornado, and all other necessary insurance. Our workers are fully
covered by Workman’s Compensation Insurance.
